Forum Glitches
« on: August 11, 2010, 08:12:52 AM »

Please post any problems you are having with the forum in this thread so we can look into it.

At the moment I'm finding the quick login box is not accepting my password and redirecting me to enter it again. Anyone else having this problem?

Testing auto linking:

http://www.gundamaustralia.com

Seems to be working fine for me. I wonder if the issue with links not automatically linking is a browser related issue like it was on the last forum. I remember firefox wouldn't auto link and I had to edit everyones posts to make the links clickable.

What browsers do you guys use?

Using Firefox 3.6.8 here and it only displays the "imminent launch" page, not auto-linking to the forum. I manually looked for the forum page.

For auto redirecting to the forums, I use this line of http code for my redirecting 404 page :

<meta HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="5; URL=index.html">

Insert it in between the <head></head> tags at the top of the page.

Replace the number 5 with some other number if you like as it is the amount of time in seconds that it takes before redirecting.

The URL needs to be changed to the page you are redirecting to (in this case the main forum page).

This works in all browsers too. Hope this helps.

Instead of: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> right?

Will ftp the page now. can you guys test it and let me know if there's a problem please?

Why is it redirecting after 5 seconds from /index to /index/index before redirecting to /forum? What have I done wrong?

I replaced the line of code between the head tags and changed 5 to 15 and index.html to /forum.

Back in a bit...

nvm I hard refreshed and it seems to work ok. Please let me know how firefox etc go.

Place that line of code after the <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> line (aka the next line of code)

Replace index.html with http://gundamaustralia.com/forum/index.php and see if that works.

Random there is a collapsible button that says "additional options" at the bottom left of the post reply window (not quick reply) that has the image uploader.

Does everyone have the quick reply window on by default?

GoZ thanks for that. It's working fine now. Really appreciate the help!

Quite possibly. I'll change it to an hour and see how it goes.
