Like I said, I only went to Rhodes, so not sure about the QVB shop. Picked up a MG Deathscythe and Shining Gundam :)

the QVB one is also having a sale. My cousin bought me a HG GN-X III for following her around on boxing day. Actually I ended up as the only one who made a purchase.

Hobbyco is a huge shop,
i was suprised too when i found all sorts of kits,
from some that i havent even heard of before (let alone seen)
to kits of the newest type straight out of japan. I guess the reason
why they are so pricey is
A)Australia is quite far away from Japan
B)Gunpla isnt exactly "that" popular but it will be soon enough
C)There is no competition around, so their prices can be whatever they want,
but even if there was, by that time gunpla would be popular meaning it would be cheap anyway

Hobbyco is the official distributor of Bandai kits in Aus, The guy in charge of the gundam section Rhyan is a really good guy, he's a hobbyist himself, I think he has an account on this forum too, I always drop by when im in the city, like sweatshop_aficionado says they have a club which gets you 10% off all purchases and $5 shipping on anything, incidentally at least in the stores in sydney that ive found they tend to have the best prices, cause the other stores ship kits in by air, but hobbyco can buy in large enough quantities to use a boat, but that does tend to mean about 4 months from when they order it to when it gets into the store...

Loots from road trip to Rhodes to take advantage of 20% off sale. They didnt have much on the shelves that was in my budget and that I liked but I think I did OK!
NB...had a $25 voucher which helped!
