Vintage 1/1200 Whitebase
« on: January 15, 2016, 11:34:51 PM »

Found one of these in my stash. Vintage 1/1200 Whitebase. Under the display base it has some prints. Can anybody translate the japanese text? Also interesting to note is the year(1980) and the different Bandai Logo. Does this mean that it's an authentic vintage model?

Yes the kit is an old one. Is it an original issue? More than likely as I think they don't include glue in the re-releases.

Unfortunately just because it has 1980 moulded in doesn't mean it was made then, that's just when the moulds were first used. There's no real way of telling just how old the kit is as they have been and still are re-released now and again BUT the glue would suggest it's from the 80's.

The Katakana basicallys asys "Whitebase" and that the Gundam, Guncannon, Guntank and Gunperry are included int he kit.

Agree with gunny. Bandai hasn't included a tube of glue in their kits since the late 80's (when they started doing the snap-fit kits with Gundam Sentinel or thereabouts). And recent rereleases didn't have them. I wouldn't recommend using that tube, though. If it really is that old.
