Idea for display case
« on: November 05, 2015, 06:40:23 PM »

Hi All,
been quiet for awhile since last year, as I have finished my last MG Zaku last year, started on the MG Gundam Shin Musha kit, got tied up with life and never went back to my Gunpla.

Just came back from Japan with a few more new kits (adding to my pile of shame... ahem, I meant future projects :D ) and is getting back in to it by getting started with a RG Gundam RX-78-2 which is difficult with my fat fingers....

Anyway, I have setup a theatre room recently which I am planning to display my future Gunplas, and my Missus asked me how am I going to keep them dustfree and protect them from my 3 wandering cats, so I was trying to find some clear cases that are affordable (ebays and some online shops are selling at big $)

I don't have any more floor space, but do have open shelves spaces...

So what can you guys suggest for display storage?  Possible to DIY clear acrylic cases?

thanks

If you don't mind dusting your kits regularly and want something cheap, a simple bookshelf is not a bad idea. An acquaintance of mine is using a bookshelf with glass doors; it works quite well apparently

That ikea cabinet is nice but ikea isn't,they send all their profits overseas to avoid tax and mark up their prices compared to other countries even after considering the exchange rate so yeah screw them guys.

yeah was considering the Ikea shelf but with a no space available, that would be hard....   Would be nice to have one to display the PG kit of mine once completed :D
