The first kit from the new tomy-takara line, MasterPiece has been given an official unveiling, the line will start with the Shield Liger, because they all do, its 1/72nd scale, though like the zoids of old some liberties were taking to accommodate the mechanism's, the kits look to have a internal frame to which you add the armour, the kits can walk, move in various other ways, have various sounds to accompanying the movements and at least one led also timed to sound/movement, all for Y12,000.

Like the locking mechanism for the joints (Koto's ones are.... insufficient), not a big fan of the movements. Good effort though.

It's more of a toy than a kit isn't it, that's why the price is so high.

you have to build it by the looks of it, doesnt that make it a kit and not a toy, which generally you dont have to build, either way i dont think it would last long if you gave it to kids haha

I've just seen this on Hobby Search and I still reckon it's more a toy than a model. Yeah you have do some assembly but a lot of toys have some sort of assembly. Nothing stopping you from painting it up but it doesn't look like a detailed kit like the Koto range.

this is a good point, your definitely buying this for the gimmick and not the detail, i will look toy-ish sitting next to the HMM liger
