Hasegawa 1/72 VF-1J Max/Millia Gerwalker

I just saw this and it seems pretty cool but realised it was a Hase kit and from experience you require cement to piece the parts together, so would this require the same thing or it would be like gunpla type kit?

I insist on this thread having pictures of said kit  :)

Looks pretty sweet to me. I've always liked the Gerwalk mode for some reason.

But to answer the question: HLJ's listings are handy because of their 'assmebly guide' icons below the product. Level 3 usually means cement is required. But there are icons to show if it needs cement and/or paint.

That's because the 1984 Jetfire toy was a Macross Super Valkyrie toy with a new paintjob. ;)

It probably won't be all cement for the arms and legs since it requires movement. You probably can change the color from max to milia.

It's a full glue & paint kit. Hasegawa aren't into snap fit. I think the only snap fit kits they do are some of the Virtual On series.

Well it would be pretty cool. I don't think I've seen Hase gerwalker kits. Not sure whether to buy...

They're a new kit. Share a lot of parts with the aircraft version. As usual Hasegawa will bombard the market with 65 different versions of it within a few years.

One good thing, it's the TV version.

- Yes and no. TECHNICALLY the Vitrual On kits can be snapped together, but without glue it won't stick together. And don't expect HG/MG posability with the Virtual On kits, the weight distribution is different and the tinier parts break easily if you're not careful. I finished a Kagekiyo kit last year, great looking kit, but it's just meant to stand there not be actively posed like Gunpla.

I love Hasegawa's 1/72 aircraft kits but their Virtual On kits need work. Don't know if that applies to the Macross kits, though--the Battroid and Gerwalk designs are more robust than the Virtual On designs so it might have larger joints to work with.
