Okay, confirming: OPEN Category, and I have dibs on the GM Cannon II which I just bought today.

It's unopened and I'm not openign him until the 1 Nov start date.

As to HOW I'm modifying this into an Ace/Character custom, it's not exactly an 'Ace' or 'Squad Leader' I'm thinking up but more a character and MS for a specifica position:
Quote
In modern military parlance, to take point, walk point, be on point, or be a point man means to assume the first and most exposed position in a combat military formation, that is, the lead soldier/unit advancing through hostile or unsecured territory. The term can be applied to infantry or mechanized columns. The soldier, vehicle, or unit on point is frequently the first to take hostile fire. The inherent risks of taking point create a need for constant and extreme operational alertness.

Essentially I'm turing the Mid-range fire support GM Cannon into a front-up Point Man/Assault Breacher type of unit.

Should we see if HLJ can swing us a RG Zeta to up the ante a bit?

Gunny may also be offering something up for anyone wishing to compile a banner for the GGB:Ex 4. See here.

I shall enter the Open category, with a currently undecided kit (though probably a Jegan.)

An aside: If the kit comes as a twin-set, can you enter them as a team?

Additional marking are mentioned in the open category but not in the OOB or advance OOB, so I am assuming that they are not allowed.  Gunny is pretty good about minimising grey areas in his rules.

I'm sure you'd look good in a twin set

But for the sake of all concerned just keep it in the closet until after the build  :-*

So that's a no

What I will allow is the use of some sort of transport as a base, bearing in mind that they will both be judged as a single entry. For example I'm going to use a Base Jabber as a base for my Jesta and you could also use the EX or very old 1/144 Dodai as a ride for a Zeon ground pounder. There may well be other battle field taxis but they are the two most common.

At the moment this build looks about as popular as a pork chop in a Synagogue  :(

No luv for OOB and just barely a rise for Open. I thought the Unicorn in a cage would have attracted a few more takers but it looks like not. Would a 1/100 B-Club RX-78 ver.Ka or GP03S get a bit more attention I wonder?

I don't think it's the prize, Gunny. Some people are probably getting entries ready for Supanova and/or don't want a project over Christmas/new year.

I don't think the turn out is too bad. If everyone is dedicated enough to finish, there will still be more finishers then the previous GB. :)
