MG 00 Raiser
« on: June 16, 2012, 05:59:58 PM »

So this is my entry for the 00 Group Bake. This would have been the first kit that I've stuck with the original colour scheme with the exception of a metallic-ish blue. Painting this kit was a major pain in the ar5e as the K&H primer that I used on this kit cured with an extremely rough surface and after I had applied a layer or two of paint onto the primer, it would start cracking and 'peeling up' as though it had shrunk. For the decals, I used a mix of the original dry transfers and some left over waterslides from various MG kits.

Nice metallic paintjob!! Love that you left the detailing you did on the frame exposed! Great work!

That is one impressive kit. I've been reading up on the MG 00 Raiser to help me decide whether or not to build it. Did you have any problems with weak joints or the 0 raiser falling off?

The blue you used just looks awesome on 00raiser. im a sucker for blue but that looks nuts. cant wait to paint mine one day!
What blue is that you used. You put an undercoat on it before hand or is that just blue straight over the primer?

@Muffin-Button: No problems with the 0 raiser falling off. When you have the 00 Gundam itself, there are no issues with weight distribution, but once you add on the 0 Raiser, those knees are going to crumble if you try to pose it without an action base.

@Chaos RR6: for the blue, it was : Primer, Tamiya sky blue, Mica Blue, Sky Blue to do highlights and the Mica Blue again.

Ahh ok thanks. It's good to have the knowledge of someone who has actually built it.
