MG Banshee OVA ver.
« on: June 13, 2012, 09:06:37 PM »

Hi guys!  Here's my latest work.  As usual it's painted by airbrush, panel lined by enamel wash and I applied custom water decals.

I left this in destroy mode since transformation is prone to scratches.

wow! Awesome build, so clean and those decals just look top notch. Build aside, how did you make it so then you could enlarge the images when you clicked on them?

@Ethan

thanks man!  I used photobucket for image hosting and they have this option where you can get a link of a thumbnail of your pics that you can post in the forums.  Just fiddle around with the account settings and you'll find it.

The finish and decals on your Banshee look amazing. The colour really looks good against your titanium Sinaju.  Great work!

Nice result !
Apparently, I came up with the same orange with yours (No means for plagiarism, sry :) ), but I used fluorescent orange from Tamiya. For the V-fin, I use TS-21 Gold Leaf.

Mind sharing a bit of opinion? How well do you think these colors will go with Flat Black ?

@Jimmy The Guz

Thanks man!  Yeah I like them standing beside each other.  Actually they're both beside me in my computer table right now hehe!

@MamoruMiyano

Thanks man!  No problem since that's what's written in the manual so I'm expecting alot of people will be doing it the same as ours.

As for the black color...  As what they say black is the abscence of all colors so if you pair that with the other colors you mentioned it'll enhance their brightness more BUT it'll be a double edged sword since black will take away all the details of your kit.   That's why as much as possible I don't use black that often on my gunpla kits unless it's stated in the manual that I need to.

Oh yeah gundam wiki also states that the Banshee isn't really black but has a very dark midnight blue color so if you're going with the official colors then you'll have to make it dark blue.

@qiqi

Thanks man!  Yeah I know how you feel since I like the Banshee design better myself.  I don't think we can help it since they make enemy ms better looking than the protagonist haha!  Case in point the Sinanju.

I wasn't a big fan of the dark blue hues in the Banshee....until now. Thanks for showing me how awesome that can be in the right execution!

Wow, that is an amazingly clean and balanced paint job. Absolutely love it ! The mix for the dark, and the contrasts with the frame/ decals/horn make it pure win :-) nice work.

@coldflame5811

thanks man!  Yeah there's tons of decals in ver ka kits.  Just think that the end results are worth it and you'll do fine :D

A great man once said "The more decals the better" - quote from Hajime Katoki haha!

@ZETA NEWTYPE

Thanks man!  I'm actually quite worried about the result of the blue since the shade of blue in the pictures of the manual was very light so I added more black to the mix.  The end result looks like the unicorn in the 5th episode of the ova.

@Hoardz01

Thanks man!  I was worried that the finish won't look good since rainy season just started in our area.  Good thing I didn't get any frosting during my final topcoat.

Wow this looks great. Love the tone of the main color and the psycho frame. The v-fin and collar are strangely the same color as the psychoframe all too often on many peoples paint jobs, so that is a very refreshing change to be seen on yours. Immaculate paint and decal work, very clean!
