So this is my entry for the Group Build.

There is something afoul at Anaheim Electronics (again). It seems someone at AE have got their sneaky little paws on the older AEUG GM Cannon II blueprints. Now they are rolling them out the factory right into Full Frontal's Neo-Zeon ranks with some minor and very kick ass modifications. Now these so called Cannon Zulus are providing much needed heavy fire support for the Sleeves. Let us see how the Feddies like a taste of their own medicine when it's dispensed from two very big barrels.

So my idea is to modify the GM Cannon II to fit the Sleeves' design philosophy which starts with giving it... well... sleeves. It will also have a bigger cannon, a new armor piece over the chest plates, extra armor over the shoulders and a Geara Zulu Helmet. Probably more modifications will be made as I think of them.

This probably the biggest project I've undertaken as I will be attempting so many things I am either new at or have never done before, such as scratch building parts or weathering. So there is a chance this could fail hilariously, so stay tuned. :P

Oh, and this is exam period for me so I probably won't have the ball rolling properly until at least after the 21st.

Oh and Mods, can you give me a 'go ahead' if all my back story and ideas, including the name change, are according to the rules so I can get started... very very slowly.

Don't get too carried away with uber weapons and extra add on's, after all the suit is supposed to a grunt. You'd be better off clearing them with Shaid before you go too far down the track.

Also don't forget to declare your entry in the primary topic as per the requirements  ;)

Be careful with the mods, flamingeyebrows. While you can go all out, it still needs to be a grunt suit at the end of the day. If you don't want to give away what you're planning in public, you can always drop me a PM with some details and I can approve or disprove or whatever. ;)

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. So far the only weapon mod I am thinking is bigger barrels on the cannon because I don't like the original look and bigger fuel tank thingy at the back to match it. All the armor mods are just to make it look like a Sleeve suit. Is that all right?

Jeez, no pressure. :P

You only have to paint it primer grey and never finish it to satisfy Sonar  :-*

Thanks, I will do that Shaid. :) I will notify you of each mod before I finalise them and wait for your approval. For now I don't mind doing it in the thread. I might PM the later ones.

What I've done so far is removed the collar around the torso armour so it doesn't get in the way of my mod.

I then gave the GM head a Geara Zulu Hat.

I will also be putting a Monoeye in the visor if that's ok.

Also I am designing a new chest plate. The Sleeve suits all have black breast plates and collars that are white lined and have their rank on them. My idea is that the Sleeves would like to cover up the very stereotypical GM chest grills on their new toys so the plate is extended to do that. I will then put a rank symbol on the chest and the collar. It will be the lowest rank symbol you can see on the chests of the normal Geara zulus. I whipped up a hasty prototype to see if you approve.

I hope it's a legal mod. the actual one is coming along nicely. :P

Those mods are fine, flamingeyebrows.

Your building this as though the Sleeves manufactured the suit themselves, instead of it being a captured suit. That's perfectly fine. I might go back and reword my OP to make it obvious that's an option.

Oh, thanks christ. :P It was so fiddly and took so damn long to do the top layer of plasticard around the edges that I was REALLY hoping you approve.

That's right, I sure am. I thought it was perfectly clear in the main topic that you are allowed to. So glad I am not mistaken. :P

So, I've been considering getting LEDs involved in this project. I've been reading up LED tutorials instead of studying.

Does anyone know where I can get the necessary supplies locally in Brisbane? LEDs, Wires, Switches, Resistors, maybe even fibre optics. Will Hobbyone or Hobbyrama have what I need or would I need to try electrical stores. I am gonna need tools as well, soldering iron etc. If anybody have a comprehensive list of what I might need to get started or links to more tutorials, I would greatly appreciate it. :)
