So whilst i waiting for my wire for the FAU to arrive from the UK thinking it would take forever i figured id start on this kit... the wire turned up within a week lol but im enjoying this build too much to stop now so the FAU can wait a little longer Smiley

so the kit as described in the R&D HERE needs some hand painted detail love to become the master piece it should be, and thats exactly what i'm doing, i actually de-sprued the whole kit before building and have since been slowly building sub assemblies and {poorly) painting on detail.

first the head, not actually much detail to add here besides panel lines but its does come with a noteworthy gimmick in the polycap plactice "wires" that plug into the head and go through the neck into the body and provide a great "moving part" look when you move the head

the body, starting with the "zoid core", its basically hidden in the body and completely un seen once build but its still a pretty kool addition

Apparently zoids have disc brakes  - giant red calipers inherently a must

and my current position, the tail, neck and head attached to the body, the tail is great has some great articulation (as does the neck/head) and it can actually "lock" into place for the sniper shot ala the anime, heres some pics to try an illustrate the articulation and the detail etc ive "attempted" to hand painted on lol

...seahorse zoid anyone

the leena pilot figure comes pre painted which is pretty kool and saves some tiny tiny painting, it is missing facial features though and looks a little ghostly lol

wow those photos really show where ive messed up painting and tried to fix it, looks ok in person, not on camera though aparently lol, ah well practice makes slightly better

Interesting  Smiley Good to see an old school enamel user at work.

Damn you I was hoping not to start my Iron Kong any time soon but every time I see Koto Zoids kits my resistance waivers a bit more. They are such a PITA to assemble but they look so good when finished  Smiley

Except even Humbrol ain't what they used to be. I can probably smell and tell if a tin is of the good'old school variety or the more recent but crappier 'super' type.

ARMS...well weapons in the shape of arms, theres actually only one bit of the arm thats not a weapon and even thats just the hydraulic to work the claw lol
This is a fine example of a bit that needs some paint love for details the 3 barrel minigun was just all blue and none of the orange is standard and the weapon pod interior was just black, the worst bit, the claws were just all blue i can remember it exactly in the anime but im sure they were just blue and besides who wants that, menacing silver claws ftw

sorry for the bad lighting in some bit a cbf photo op lol

Also my Macro lens for my phone arrived allowing me to take stupid close ups like these, really shouldnt do this if you want to cover up paint blemishs lol better light and effort on focusing also required Tongue
The lens - $10 posted of ebay attaches to the phone by a magnetic ring and comes how its seen here as a wide angle lens which works great or you screw the top half off and it becomes a macro lens which is amazing can get so close to tiny things Smiley
