I've just scored a OYW RX-78 (ver1.5) from Freya. I've already got completed MG RX-78's in factory configuration up the wazoo so I'm looking for something different. I've seen a few resin conversions for the ver1.5 frame and was wondering if anyone has any or built any and what they think of them. Links to any you may know of would be nice as well thanks.

From memory Ako hobby had a couple that based off the oyw frame. His kits are either resin or plastic and the fit is resonable to good from what I've seen.

I googled ako hobby conversion kit oyw and got some good results across a few forums.

I did a group order with him and he was pretty good to deal with. He screwed up one of the conversion kits and sent out the replacement at no charge pretty promptly and let me keep the other one too.

Thanks. I've seen them but I reckon their web site is a shocker and would be a bit reluctant to order anything.

Thanks. I've seen them but I reckon their web site is a shocker and would be a bit reluctant to order anything.

Akohobby has been around for yonks. I've ordered option parts from them in the past when they were one of the first sites to offer metal thrusters and the like.

I used their Beam Rifle plastic kit for my MK II build a few years back and it was top notch in quality.

I agree that the site is a bit lacking and the ordering system a pain but I have never had issues with them at all.

B-Club released several resin conversion kits for both v1.0, 1.5 as well as OYW.
I used to collect those kits whenever I saw on my trip to Tokyo/Osaka but nowadays have no time...

I made the 1.5 conversion kit few years back and you can read about it on my blog.

The Powered GM  and GM Spartan injection kits were famous for wrong reason though... -__-;

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was scratchbuilt.

This topic is moot, as Ako hobby make the best conversion sets for OYW frame, and Gunny isn't having it.

Shut it down :P

Thanks dj898 for your two cents ;)

This topic is now about the Powered GM that won the GBWCBMKWCBAKUC two solar circumnavigations ago.

That was a cool GM.
