Trains
« on: December 28, 2011, 08:26:49 AM »

ok so my son Ray (turning 3 in april) loves trains, so i wanted to get him a toy of one of the sydney city rail trains.... but no, nobody makes them :(
so i decided to design a wooden thomas style one. seemings as he is always going on about the millennium train i designed Millennium Mat :D
now all i need to do is make it :/

let me know what you think, im thinking of making the other trains on the network too ;)

Cool! How about Uncle Tangara?

Have you seen these? Perfect for what you want to do.

yep for sure tangara (aboriginal for "to go" 行くぜ) is on the list, i think i will do the whole sydney fleet :)
that blank is pretty sweet but i want to do australian trains that looks like a NY metro (im guessing here)
for what ever reason the aus trains are either non existent, really hard to find or out of my price range (not a toy)

Yeah actual model trains are pricey mate. I have a box of old ones in my store room from when I was a kid that I hang on to for that reason only.

Maybe you could paint an NYC subway car blank in Tangara scheme?

I'd be guessing some of the model railroading forums would have the info you seek.
