Miniatures and Wargaming
« on: September 13, 2011, 01:59:42 PM »

Hey everyone, I've just joined GAF (as you will be able to see by my incredible post count).

I said I'd share a bit of my other interests in my Meet & Greet thread, so here it is. Miniature Wargaming. Specifically Infinity and Warmachine.

I've been painting for a while now and I'm looking to transfer my fine detail skills + blending across to Gunpla. Then see what happens!

I've still got a lot to learn (especially by European painter standards).
Cheers!
Rich

Thanks guys :) really appreciate the kind words. I'm really looking forward to trying to transfer it Fury, and I think I can make something maybe a bit unique with it too. Lighting effects, metal effects, etc.

I got my RX78-02 Origin head model from HLJ yesterday, and I'm thinking of doing some Mr Hobby Acrylic sprays to get the base colour down, then doing some small detail stuff in different places. As well as some LEDs :D

I dabble from time to time in a bit of table battling. I used to do 40K but got fed up with the constant grab for money by Games Workshop with rule changes that totally negated $1000+ armies with the stroke of a pen. I mainly played Dark Angels & Imperial Guard. I'm still into Battletech (have been since it started 18 odd years ago) but it's getting harder to find new opponents in this day of instant gratification.

Here's a few shots of my Dark Angels Deathwing, Imperial Guard Armoured Company and some of my Battletech mechs. They are not quite as good as your Warmachine figures but they did  manage to take out a few prizes in thier time, especially the AC.

Imperial Guards Armoured Company

Space Marine Dark Angels Deathwing

Battletech mechs. Mainly Fed Suns, Lyran with a few Comstar & Wolf's Dragoons.

Started painting some of these again
This time after watching a bunch of tutorials and reading up on different articles
I think it's certainly helped

The weapons and pants still need to be done and then the base needs finishing but it's coming along nicely
Thin coats lots of times gives a nice clean transition in colours but its some work.......
