MG RB-79 Ball Ver. ka GAF Grunt Suit GB Entry
« on: April 03, 2011, 02:47:54 PM »

This is my completed Grunt Suit GB entry, my MG RB-79 Ball Ver. Ka

This guy has seen alot of action and by the looks was lucky to make it back to base.

The most of the armour has been removed for repair and to check for internal damage.

I had alot of fun with this build detailing the internals and painting the pilots

I hope you like it

Sonar suggested I get this guy to pilot  ;)

Well thats this one done  ;D

Thanks for viewing and any comments are very appreciated  :)

By golly shifty, hand paint and still popping them out with such efficiency and quality. Very nice colours, weathering and battle damage. Gonna get myself an MG with clear part one day. Great job!

Outstanding mate, and by golly you churned it out quickly! I really love those figures. They are painted so darn nice. Great colours, balance, detail, and precision. Battle damaged just the right amount and you've pulled it off demonstrating experience beyond your years once again. Boy there is so much detail on the ball internals, and that blowout on the back of the claw arm is magnificent. Great photography! These two are just magic:

If photography is something you've picked up since you started gunpla then I would say you are naturally gifted. Your composition, lighting, contrast, and balance are always spot on. Two things I really envy are people with a natural eye for colour and the camera.

This is great work man. I imagine it took you out of your comfort zone a bit and gave you a bit of a different kind of challenge?

@ Zen thanks bro, being smaller kit didnt take too long for this one :) might have to do another ball to keep this guy company soon

@ Jaso, glad you like it mate :)

@ Shadow, thanks mate I wanted to try my detail painting and see how it would turn out before I have a crack at my Zoid Dark Horn :) It was a alot of fun picking out what bits to detail

@ Sonar, what can I say mate thats the nicest bit of feed back I have got for one of my kits mate so I thank you very very much for your kind words :) After seeing DC23's figures on his Turn A head dio I just had to have another go at painting these little guys :) I am most happy with how "Luke" came out, he was the most difficult so thanks for throwing down the challenge ;)

The big blow out and missing claw damage was done with a solidering iron and I think I will be having a go at that again on another kit.... smelly but fun ha ha ha

Thanks for the photo props too mate :) snapping pics is def only something I have been playing with since getting into gunpla and I gotta say it alot of fun too alogt to learn tho ha ha ha

This build was a bit of a challenge mate and alot of fun too :) I really didnt know how it woud turn out when I decided to start trying to pull all those tiny details out of the internals but I am happy with the result, always a few things i would like to improve on but thats what the next kit is for right :)

OMG is that guy working on a platform at altitudes above 3m without a safety harness? Oh no wait theres no gravity in space

jokes aside nice work with the details on the frame. And those blast hole looks great.
