Hey gunny, put me down for the Nemo will ya? I am thinking September is still far away. I might be able to go up. As to the type, I am tempted to do a reconemo. And say that in a French accent.

I will see where this is going, I don't see myself going up there anytime soon, but if someone from Melbourne is going up and willing to do courier service, then I might just be up for it.

also, plenty of GAF decals still in stock here, so I can help out.

I think get the MG strike ver. RM. The parts separation would ease you back into airbrushing.

That is one good looking orange. Pop pop!

Now some answers to your question in no particular order.

The clear parts of the 00 series is my favourite part of the kit. You could paint it whatever colour to suit the colour scheme. I normally paint the inner part of the orb, in a couple of layers, first thick, let it dry for like 10 minutes, then slowly go thinner. Hang it upside down so it doesn't pool.

rubber parts = pain in the kapingass. Paint just won't stick. And on the 00 it moves, so cracks and peels are unavoidable. I've heard that you can dye it, but have not tried it myself.

Post paint assembly scratches - I spray paint, it seems to be thin enough to not get scratches. But some do sand the parts down a bit to allow movement without destroying the paint job.

hope that helps. Keep it up.

The Catapult / Grunt Build # 5 - Flame thrower Zee Zulu ... 2nd Open
« on: August 26, 2013, 05:24:37 PM »
Hello guys, back for a little while to post up my entry for 'zee' grunt group build. I never did receive 'zee' custom flame decals that I ordered, so I think I will made do with this. Also notice how one side is smoother than 'zee' other? My 3 bottles of cement (one unopened) turned into glob, not sure why. So yeah... My explanation for that, one side of the machine is more exposed to 'zee' flame, so it requires more cast iron protection.. 'ZEE'RE!!

Now to go through 7 pages of unread post. Yee-freaking-yay...

I've cast iron-ed everything, just need to paint them. Also, issues with custom decal. The seller resent them today, so hopefully I'll get them asap.
