Engineering Corps / Re: questions about panel lining on painted parts

First of all, welcome to the forums.

Now to 'answer' your question, I think you're going to need to wait for, bare minimum 6 hours (though I would wait 36 hours) before panel lining with an enamel wash. If you try doing it before then and cleaning up within hours, you're probably going to wipe off the paint as well. You have to give the lacquer time to dry/cure even though it looks dry to the touch.

Also, since you've used Matt white it's a lot harder to get rid of the excess wash as compared to having a glossy surface since the wash can hide in 'crevices' in the paint texture. So I suggest you to either use their Pure White, or spray a layer of gloss coat and then do the wash.

Thanks everybody for the kind words!

@Gunny, I'll use a lighter background next time. I personally like using a darker backdrop, but like you said, you can't see the detail extremely well in this scenario.

Quick build over the holidays. I had already painted/built this kit about a year ago, but didn't like how it turned out so I stripped the paint and did a metallic finish to the kit.

Thanks for looking!

Very clean work and paint job as usual! I like it.

And when spraying the clear purple, did you find that it required a bit less thinning than rest of Gaia's range of paints?

Selling some of my backlog to make way for some other kits I've purchased. Prices are firm and are essentially how much it cost me to obtain the item in the first place. Everything here is NEW unless other wise stated.

Please send me a personal message via the forum and NOT to my email. Shipping will be on top of the listed price.

Prefer direct bank deposit (ANZ) but will do Paypal if absolutely necessary ( buyer must pay for the fee)

No worries. :) Oh, you might want to stock up on loads of brass rods and 5 min epoxy glue. Those two things will be your best friends while tackling a resin kit of this size.

Whaa!!! Good luck with this bro! I'm also working on one of G-system's more 'challenging' kits now. Just a quick tip, if you have to use screws to hold massive parts down, chances are, the screws they provide you are MUCH too small.

General Discussion / Re: So what did you do today?

@QV, so what ever happened to that build off of ours?? Haha.

Welcome back man!

Mr Metal Color tends to do that, just like Alclad II does. As Kaik said, you might want to do a layer of top coat to prevent the paint rubbing off. However, this will somewhat interfere with the metallic sheen.

Finally finished this!! Amazingly detailed work as expected. I can see where the parts look a bit rough from sanding, but that's not to say that it makes this any less impressive than it is. :)
