Here is the 1:144 HG Grimoire from the anime Gundam Reconguista in G. The model kit has been modified and painted in a weathered out of box scheme using lacquers. Modifications include styrene plating, kit bashing, epoxt putty work and 3d printed components. The diorama was also 3d printed.

where do you even find out about these weird as mobile suits haha

It's a standard grips conflict neo zeon grunt from Axis, it reappears in Unicorn so it fairly comment. I'm kinda a fan of the design.

Can I have some more research.

Have a random dig around gundam wiki mate.

Face it M_M,  you just wanted to make suit that looked like one of those bamboo screening fences!

:P

That could be cool.

Ah! Didn't read it that way my apologies. If I did historically correct Zimmerit it would not be viable from 1:144. Also the from of past on a gundam is redundant. Because elements off WW2 helmets and grenades do appear on zeon mobile suits I always saw my texture armor as extra thick cast plating. Also the most appealing element of Zimmerit in ww2 was the unusual appearance which was unknown to its reason at the time and confronting in battle. Visually as a model it looks really cool and brings up interesting discussion. So my Zimmerit is more of a visual thing then a tactical thing.

does th "pattern" look that big in real life? it looks well out of scale on a model

Your no fun ;). There was no universal set pattern for Zimmerit in real life. Also it looks cool.

What did you do to get that effect?

Looks cool but uber weird.

Believe it or not the texture and color is based on World War 2 German armor. It is a bit unusual to apply this to a Sc-fi setting but does look interesting.
