Sortie Analysis / Gundam Origin preview trailer

Have anyone else seen this? It looks great! Seems Char-centric, which is fine by me.

Pilot's Rec Room / Miniatures - Malifaux Bette Noir and Hordes Snapjaw
« on: September 17, 2013, 08:51:14 PM »
So after going in on a massive order of miniatures with Hemish, I felt that miniature itch so I painted one of my unpainted Malifaux figures, Bette Noir.

I am pretty proud of the face and the hair but I am too sure on the dress.

I also finished up an old Hordes figure, Snapjaw that I've painted up as Feralligator from Pokemon. :P

This one is a lot rougher but luckily it's a rough figure anyway.
Some of it was painted so long ago that I don't have the paint to fix it anymore. :P

Comments and criticism welcome! :)

So as most of you know I am preparing what Gunny calls a "brainwashing DVD" for the QMHE next month.
The idea is to splice together all the opening and closings of all (or as much as we can get) gundam shows. Now I can obtain a lot of the opening through more questionable means but I rather we get high quality footage. This is where you come in.

If you live in Brisbane and own any DVDs of gundam series, I need you to lend them to me. I will be happy to pick them up at your convenience granted you don't live like an hour away. :P
Of course, it would be helpful if someone with a big collection put their hands up and I can get most of the footage from one person.

I will of course treat your collection with upmost care but since I am a very busy man you might not get them back until at or after QMHE. I hope a few of you is willing to help me out so we have more flair in our QMHE stall this year.

Also, to those that have organising capacities concerning the stall! We are gonna need a TV with HDMI in, and a reasonably powered laptop with HDMI out. I have a reasonably sized TV that qualify but I do not understand this tagging system QMHE is insisting on. I will also need the laptop in question at least the day before so I can make sure all the codex are up to date so the footage can be played on the day. Please advice on how we can organise this. :)

Engineering Corps / Question about chrome finishes.
« on: March 07, 2013, 12:21:57 AM »
After playing around with Ginsan, I want to try more efficient and effective way of painting chrome colours, Ginsan is nice and all but I think it'd be ineffective to use it on big pieces in large volumes. Also, I've been having trouble with the chrome effect rubbing off.

I am thinking about trying some of the Alclad 2 lacquers range. Does anyone have any experience using them? :)

Also, I have no experience using lacquer paints? Can I use it with my normal airbrush and compressor? Do I mix it with something? Can I coat over it with normal Acrylic paint and can I use it on top of acrylic base coasts? Anf generally is there tips or tricks or anything I need to know about working with lacquer?

Any help would be appreciated, guys. :)

General Discussion / Acguy's holiday
« on: February 01, 2013, 02:05:12 PM »
So Acguy tagged along with me on a foray into the Pacific Islands. Turn out Acguy is such a lil diva so there's plenty of holiday pics to share! :P

Acguy enjoy island tours because he love learning about new cultures so he can crush them for the glory of Zeon someday.

Acguy also enjoy beach trips. It's his natural element!

Acguy rang in the year 2013 on the cruise. Suck it Mayans!

Acguy had so much fun and didn't want to leave. But all good things must come to an end and he must return to crush more feddie scum.

Finally done with 5 min to spare!

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the Onion Knight!

The Glamour Shots

So the results are out for the winners.

Let's take a look at murphy's law in action here. I got 20 promotions cards because I am crazy like that. No hits. That's fine, that's how lucky draws go.

My girlfriend got a single card because she bought a Nobel Gundam. I encourage her to register it under her own name. She got the marker set!

Fortunately for me, she is kind enough to let me use it as she rarely paint so it might as well be mine but I can't help but feel a little sore about my 20 cards... :P

So any of you guys got lucky?

Who's excited? I am excited! :)

The Catapult / A quick post of my Zeonic suits ft. Juggau
« on: August 09, 2012, 07:15:24 AM »
From top to bottom left to right. Zaku 1 Sniper Custom, Juaggu the Yellephant himself, Geara Zulu and my GB entry, the modded GM Cannon II.

The Catapult / My first MG in a long time. Sandrock OOB.
« on: August 09, 2012, 07:08:06 AM »
I built my first MG in about 2 years and I beleve my second MG ever. The Sandrock.

Because I got mod and paint fatigue from the GB this one is a straight OOB.

I am happy with the results. It was a great idea to put the decals on even if the dry transfers were hell. :P

Officer's Bulletin / Rozen Zulu prediction
« on: July 12, 2012, 10:25:44 PM »
I was looking through my Zulu boxes and noticed something. Look at the numbers.

Conspiracy mode engaged.

Now, 142 has come and gone and it was a Rezel. So I am thinking the 152 will be the sweet sweet Rozen Zulu we've all been waiting for? The latest annouced HGUC is 146 and it's due September 2012 so Six more on top of that should put it around early 2013 before the Unicorn episode so it makes sense...

Anyway, that's my prediction. I hope this is not the wrong place for this, Mods.  ;D

Engineering Corps / Help! I stuffed my Airbrush. :(
« on: July 12, 2012, 07:17:06 PM »
So I was taking apart my Delta 81008 Airbrush to clean it and I lost my TRIGGER GUIDE! :(

That's no 10 in this picture here.

Can I buy that part separately or did I just bone myself and will have to buy a brand new airbrush?  ???

Mobile Suit Hangar / Finding MSA-003
« on: July 04, 2012, 12:22:56 PM »
Just posting up a teaser for the project I will be tackling during the breaks I take from the GB and hopefully finish up after it.

Stay tuned. ;) ;D :zoidberg:

Officer's Bulletin / First look at some Frozen Teardrop suits.
« on: June 23, 2012, 08:32:27 PM »
Just found these on GundamGuy's blog.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The Prometheus. (I like to call it Wolfwood's Gundam) Look like Hevayarm's successor. Typical over-designed Wing suit but I dig that so it's a must buy for me. :P Here's hoping there's a MG of it down the track.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Neither helpful nor informative. But... nice cloak?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Look like it's based on the Tallgeese? Are they Grunts!? A bit too complex for grunts, maybe...

I can't wait to see Snow White and Warlock! Now Hurry up and release the rest of the EW boyband on MG, Bandai!

What are your thought?

So this is my entry for the Group Build.

There is something afoul at Anaheim Electronics (again). It seems someone at AE have got their sneaky little paws on the older AEUG GM Cannon II blueprints. Now they are rolling them out the factory right into Full Frontal's Neo-Zeon ranks with some minor and very kick ass modifications. Now these so called Cannon Zulus are providing much needed heavy fire support for the Sleeves. Let us see how the Feddies like a taste of their own medicine when it's dispensed from two very big barrels.

So my idea is to modify the GM Cannon II to fit the Sleeves' design philosophy which starts with giving it... well... sleeves. It will also have a bigger cannon, a new armor piece over the chest plates, extra armor over the shoulders and a Geara Zulu Helmet. Probably more modifications will be made as I think of them.

This probably the biggest project I've undertaken as I will be attempting so many things I am either new at or have never done before, such as scratch building parts or weathering. So there is a chance this could fail hilariously, so stay tuned. :P

Oh, and this is exam period for me so I probably won't have the ball rolling properly until at least after the 21st.

Oh and Mods, can you give me a 'go ahead' if all my back story and ideas, including the name change, are according to the rules so I can get started... very very slowly.
