"Namco Bandai looks to be trying out some new ideas for the upcoming Gundam Breaker. In the third person action game, you play as Gundam plastic models, as the 1/144, 1/100, and 1/60 scale digital plamo fight to damage each other against the backdrop of dioramas and miniature sets.

The game is planned for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, with cross-platform capabilities allowing users of the two platforms to play against each other."

Mobile Suit Hangar / ZNG - MG Duel Assault Shroud 1/100
« on: July 10, 2012, 06:29:50 PM »
Yeah, remember when I said I was going to work on the PG Mk. II and start that LED tutorial? ...Gunpla ADD kicked in and it made this...

I absolutely love this kit, after building the MG strike not too long ago...I have to say everything wrong with that engineering wise has been fixed here. It's a very similar kit in regards that lore-wise the Duel Gundam was the basis for the entire GAT-X line of Gundams so you really get that familiarity here if you already built a Strike but enough new to keep entertained.  I'm digging it's normal mode for the moment, but I will assemble the Assault Shroud armor system within a few nights and have pics of that....and yeah, I totally took these playing with Instagram. Don't judge me. lol  ;D

Mobile Suit Hangar / ZNG PG Gundam MK. 1/60 / LED Lighting Tutorial
« on: July 08, 2012, 12:48:11 PM »
Alright, I've been tinkering away at my PG kit that I bought LAST YEAR and the amount of room in this kit has inspired me to put LEDs just about everywhere so that request I got from the EW GB will be applied to this WIP thread. I will probably start working on it tonight but i'm not sure when i'll have it up and running, got a few trips coming up so I gotta work hard to relax hard before this is summer is over! In the meanwhile, [url\http://lupes.wordpress.com/]Lupes[/url]has various entries on his blog where he details a bit about how he put LEDs in his kits. I gave him my source for LEDs here in the States, and he went crazy with them. Good stuff.

Oh and a WIP pic!

Mobile Suit Hangar / ZNG - MG Unicorn "Banshee" 02
« on: June 09, 2012, 04:13:47 PM »
Whut? Out of no where, he returns.

Yeah, I had a damn good dry spell due to a certain MMO by the name of Star Wars The Old Republic, but it's summer in my parts and it's time to get back to work and the front runner is the damn Banshee! Hell yeah!

Barely have I got the straight build started when I decided, that ugly ass default gold needed to be fixed and so it was!

Test fittings, definitely need another coat and some nub removing on the top chest plate there, got too excited it seems.

The light hit the gold just right on this picture, where as the NT-D didn't show up as nice above.

While doing this small bit of this kit, I noticed something, while I prefer the NT-D mode in the Unicorn 01 to it's Unicorn model, i'm equally split between which is more awesome of the Unicorn Mode and the NT-D Mode in the Banshee, they are both so bad ass. I love the gold faceplate and the crazy V-fins.

Mobile Suit Hangar / ZNG - MG Unicorn OVA. Ver. [Unicorn Mode]
« on: March 24, 2012, 01:27:19 PM »
So I have gone back to my old straight built MG Unicorn kit now that I have the HD Version on the way which I will make a better Destroy mode presentation out of, so this kit will effectively stay in Unicorn mode for the rest of it's life, and here's why.

Part of that LED order was for this baby ( I bought 10 green of these chip-like LED lights, for this kit and the 00 Raiser project. ). I was able to mod the head out and place these chip LED lights to properly resemble the Unicorn's eyes behind the face mask. I thought it was a fun little thing to do, but I put this in the hangar because these LEDs are so fun to work with I might light up the rifle and what not.

With high expectations, human beings leave Earth to begin a new life in space colonies. However, the United Earth Sphere Alliance gains great military powers, and soon seizes control of one colony after another in the name of Justice and Peace. The year is After Colony 195. Operation Meteor. In a move to counter the Alliance's tyranny, rebel citizens of certain colonies scheme to bring new arsenals to the Earth, disguising them as shooting stars. However, the Alliance headquarters catches on to this operation.

So here we are, the Gundam Wing EW GB! I have no set timeline for this as I'd like you to be able to have as much time as you can to be the most creative and the fact it's a GB that involves about 7 MG kits, if someone was so keen to do all, I want you to have the ability to show us you can do that! You are more than welcome to share your previous builds.

Rules are simple:

1. The Group Build's Main Focus is the list below, but due to popular demand you may participate using previous HG releases (including 1/100 and 1/144 sizes)!
 a. MG 1/100 Wing Gundam EW (or Ver. Ka)
 b. MG 1/100 Deathscythe EW
 c. MG 1/100 Deathscythe Hell
 d. MG 1/00 Sandrock EW
 e. MG 1/100 Shenlong EW
 f. MG 1/100 Heavyarms EW
 g. MG 1/100 Epyon EW
 h. MG 1/100 Wing Gundam TV ( not EW, but recent enough to go with the line of kits )
 i.  MG 1/100 Wing Zero EW

2. There are no restrictions or requirements on building your kits, do them how you want to do them. No prizes or pressure here, just have fun.

3. Those who wish to do conversions must prove one of the original kits above were used in the construction of the kit. The only thing I could see possible here is someone trying to attempt a Wing Zero TV conversion from one of the kits above, i'd love to see that by the way!

Now, let OPERATION METEOR begin!

General Discussion / A friend in need - KAMM's ordeal
« on: December 13, 2011, 01:41:18 PM »
Recently a fellow Gunplar most of know well has fallen on some hard times and needs our help, here's the original post from over on the MAC Forums

Quote
"With all that is going on in MAC and the community, Competitions, Christmass, group builds, I know we are all busy.

However we need to help Kamm somehow!!!

The guy who is always there for MAC without a doubt, Lost his car when he was hit by an uninsured driver, then the recent event of his attack...

(For those who do not know)

Kamm was assaulted by an unknown attacker, He took a hit to the face which knocked out a few teeth and drove other teeth back into his jaw. He must undergo many trips to an Orthodontal surgeon to stabilize his mouth, repair and salvage what can be saved, and clear and remove what can't. Kamm will also have dental implants at some time once the initial damage has healed.

Kamm's dental bills are in excess of 5,000 pounds (or about $7,000 USD), and he is self employed. Not only does he have these issues but time away from work, is money he's not making. Due to the nature of his work, his customers (clients) may decide to go with another service.

We need to help find a way to lessen the burden on him and make sure he gets the medical expertise and help he deserves to get put back together the right way.

What can we do? We have amazing people here and I know together we can think of something.

Thoes who can donate, can do so by Clicking on this:

I myself donated 5 USD to the cause, maybe here we here at GAF can pull together a little more to help out our MAC brother and someone who has given so much back to the community as a whole.

Sortie Analysis / Rumor: Tomino Developing a new Gundam series - G Reko
« on: October 22, 2011, 04:21:03 AM »

Early last September, it was announced that Mobile Suit Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino was working on a new SF project called G Reko. Now, the Mechadamashii web site has turned up a new magazine image regardig this mystery proejct, which Mechadamashii claims is "the new Yoshiyuki Tomino anime set over a 1000 years in the UC timeline's future".

Here's a translation of the text that appears on the page itself, giving away plenty of clues as to G-Reko's staff.

Bottom left:

Yoshida Kenichi
Animator, Illustrator. Entered Studio Ghibli in '90. Freelancer as of '99. Beginning with Turn A Gundam, worked on the genga production for multiple productions. Character designer for Eureka 7.

Bottom right:
"It begins here....?
Hearing Director Tomino's idea, his friend Yoshida Kenichi drew this illustration on his own. The structure is... a space elevator? Standing there is a human? Or is it...."

---------

IS IT GUNDAM?!??! JUST COME OUT AND TELL US! AND WHAT'S ON THE OTHER PAGE??? Ok, stay tuned to Crunchy News for more info on the G Reko project as it develops.

Pretty strange news right after Gundam AGE coming out, the Gundam The Origin adaptation incoming, and now this? Sort of hard to believe, but if Tomino is returning to Gundam, I might die of happiness.

Officer's Bulletin / What Gundam Faction do you belong to?
« on: October 15, 2011, 03:33:49 PM »
Off another thread, after calling Hemish a zeke bastard.. >_>....I wondered to myself, where do you people stand in Gundam factions? If I had to take it seriously... I would probably have supported the Federation then found myself in the AEUG and ultimately in Londo Bell. What about you? Doesn't have to be Universal Century either! Let the rivalries begin!

Images below, will update as information pours in about what you see below.

MG Heavyarms EW drops in January

Quote from: Tomopop.com
Earlier this week, the 1/144 High Grade Gundam SEED kits were announced to be released later this year. They are on full display at the show, displayed in their updated colors and with the provided sticker decals. These stickers aren't any different from what the original Gundam SEED Gundam decals, but given that they're a free bonus, I'm not gonna complain. What is new though is the announcement of the HG LaGOWE. It'll be released in February of next year, so it looks like we will indeed be getting some more goods after all.

5 New images below, got the Dra-C and Zee-Zulu up, new Liger, and the full armor Unicorn boxart, definitely Ver. Ka.

4 New images, showing the weapons loadout on the FA Unicorn.

7 New images of the GM-II, Gundam AGE HG G-EXES, Gundam AGE HG Zedas, Gundam AGE HG Genoace Custom, Gundam AGE HG Gundam AGE-1 Titan, Gundam AGE HG Baqto. Gundam AGE HG Gundam AGE-1S Sparrow

2 New images of the RG Freedom Gundam 1/144

1 New image of SD Gundam AGE kits

2 New images of the MG Heavyarms EW w/ weapons

Colored MG Heavyarms EW as we've seen before at Shizouka, but it's sporting its weapons this time.

Notice how the Age SD kits revert back to cartoon eyes.

Okay, this is the best design out of Gundam AGE yet in my opinion and here's why. This is a mobile suit that resembles a space suit. Very cool.

Coolest of the UE i've seen so far. Yellow hand parts will probably have to be painted, good thing since I don't like the color. This is asking to be black and gold

It has some beast qualities a bit doesn't it? Feline almost.

UV paints at work here, don't get too excited

The Brass / New GAF Blog Banner - Choose your side! ROUND TWO!
« on: October 12, 2011, 12:49:24 PM »
Alright, so basically when doing the banner for the new blog update, I choose two suits. RX-78-2 Gundam and MS-06S Zaku II, and I made two banners. Now it's up to you to choose which one hits the blog, we will find out where GAF allegiances lie! Choose!

EDIT: A Poll would be ideal here but I cannot for the live of me figure it out, are polls not in the new theme?
Fury Edit: Poll Added(you might wanna fix the options though, the buttons are there in the new theme, right next to the new topic button :P

Thanks, Fury! I completely forgot about that. :D

Alright, the Gundam won, then I took it into photoshop for a clean up...then something hit me. SO GUESS WHAT? You get to choose again, it's Gundam versus Gundam in this one and the new contender is designed by yours truly. The RX-78-2 GAF Gundam!
