The Catapult / zenma5ter's MG Marasai ver The Homecoming
« on: October 06, 2013, 06:20:42 PM »
Started this build on Friday and finished this morning. I want to do more but I feel like this is just right. My inspiration for this is to create a Marasai that just survived a long campaign and slowly making its way home, this is the sight/vision that I see.

The Catapult / Grunt Build # 5 - Flame thrower Zee Zulu ... 2nd Open
« on: August 26, 2013, 05:24:37 PM »
Hello guys, back for a little while to post up my entry for 'zee' grunt group build. I never did receive 'zee' custom flame decals that I ordered, so I think I will made do with this. Also notice how one side is smoother than 'zee' other? My 3 bottles of cement (one unopened) turned into glob, not sure why. So yeah... My explanation for that, one side of the machine is more exposed to 'zee' flame, so it requires more cast iron protection.. 'ZEE'RE!!

Now to go through 7 pages of unread post. Yee-freaking-yay...

The Catapult / MG Gundam OYW ver ANA zenma5ter
« on: February 24, 2013, 01:04:39 PM »
Finally, this is sorta done. Very slight weathering and panel lining. I think I would keep my ANA builds clean.

Anyway, here it is. Painted with Gunze Metal Blue, Tamiya Light Blue, Tamiya light gunmetal and neutral grey. Also gloss black for the backpack. I left the white unpainted as it does have a slight blue hue to it. Complements the whole scheme.

Why number 6? I've got a few kits planned for this scheme (some half painted like the PGSF). So yeah...

The Catapult / Grunt Group Build Ex #4: GM Sniper II
« on: January 31, 2013, 12:45:53 PM »
I am back!!!!!

China is cold and the website restriction is ridiculous! So been rushing this for the past 2 days and I think I made it. Phewww....

Basically, Neutral Gray and Flat Black for this baby. Some HIQ parts, Bandai's weapon set.

GM Sniper II with his pimped out Draken. The Draken comes with guns, missiles and big nozzles for attraction-distraction. Enemies will be confused and the GM Sniper would take advantage of the situation and take them out one by one (from afar of course).  Pew pew pew.

Mecha Plamo Display / 1/9 Iron Man MK VII.V (7.5)
« on: September 14, 2012, 01:52:07 PM »
Not sure if any of you guys saw this in HLJ, Dragon's 1/9 The Avengers series? When I saw the preorder, this was instant get, Iron Man, in model kit form??? HLJ sells both painted and unpainted version of this kit, being the recolour freak (cheapskate), I opted for the unpainted version. I think I made the right call. Content of the box, 7 runners, 5 red, 1 silver/grey and 1 clear + a simple base. Yes, no traces of gold anywhere (for a kit that costs $40++). Most of the pieces are undergated, so if you do get the painted version, there wont be much damage when you cut them off. It took me two days to finish painting and assemble the whole thing. Assembly is not hard but you need cement to secure everything. Do look out for the head to neck assembly, I kinda f-ed that up (the neck joint is slightly showing at the back).

I used Tamiya Metallic Gold, Mica Red and Light Gunmetal for the colours. Inspiration from the Mk 8 colour. You get the clear parts for the eyes, palm repulsors and chest piece. I used metallic blue stickers for the base and a layer of mirage film to get the glowing orb-by effect. All in all not a bad looking kit. I like the proportion, the pose is alright, I would've preferred a two arm forward pose.

The Catapult / HG 1/144 Nobel Gundam - The Delinquent
« on: September 06, 2012, 12:44:26 PM »
Keep churnin' em out. Alright, the Nobel. Simple little kit in terms of build. Fairly small, design wise, it is a tad funky, though I would expect nothing less when it comes from the G-Gundam series. Poseability? the heels didnt help things. Plus the heavy hair, which meant the head is gonna tilt all over the place.

My idea for this kit is to go Gothic. Didnt really turned out the way I planned, so she is now the delinquent. Metal black ran out, so I have to use matt black. Some Dark Blue and voila. Decals and stickers are from some kits - I think it is from the MG Blue Frame and God Gundam. My idea of tattoos and stuff. So yeah.....

Also, pardon the middle finger... I had to do it.

Mecha Plamo Display / Koto's Metabee
« on: September 05, 2012, 05:11:23 PM »
The Medabot series is my first exposure to robots (not including the giant power ranger thingy), when Kotobukiya announced that they'll be producing model kits for the series, I preordered the Metabee. To be perfectly honest, I dreaded Kotobukiya's kit, their plastics are somewhat softer and parts either fits too tightly or loosely. Not a problem on this kit. Everything slotted nicely into each other. I painted this with Tamiya's Chrome Yellow with metallic black and Gun Metal. Movement wise, they are fairly limited. Rubber ball joints meant that arms and legs are 'pop' happy.

The Catapult / HG Adele - Sparrow Wear
« on: September 05, 2012, 05:00:42 PM »
Remember me? No? oh well.. Onwards!!

Anyway, family was over, so kinda busy with that. I snap-fitted this yesterday, and painted it today. Yes, with a spray can. And yes, with the wind and all. Build-wise, nothing too fancy, but I've built 3 HG AGE-1 kits (kinda over it), so don't get me wrong, this is a really fun kit to build. Design wise, it is simplistic. Lovers gotta love, haters gonna hate kinda design.

The Catapult / Yurin no Memori 2.0 - The Fairy
« on: June 29, 2012, 04:35:05 PM »
After the MS Unicorn Girl, I decided to dive deep into my feminine side. I present to you the flower of my heart, Yurin no Memori 2.0, the Fairy. I used the HG Farsia with the parts from the Wings add on set. Colours, clear red, clear orange. The stalk parts -  leftover runners, preloved guitar strings with a coat of dark green. My neverending tribute to Yurin.

The Catapult / MS Girl Gundam Unicorn (Destroy Mode)
« on: June 25, 2012, 06:49:54 PM »
Finally, it is done, a  Unicorn MS Girl. The kit, HGUC Gundam Unicorn Destroy Mode (external armor) + Banshee Destroy Mode (internal armor) and Bandai F.H figuarts Nami (One Piece). Being me, here is a teaser, while everything is drying. I will take better photos tomorrow. Beautiful sunny day in Melbourne today, so photos!!

Now the build process, as both kits are from Bandai, it is not too hard to convert the whole thing. Just shave some plastic and you're good to go. As this is my first conversion and Nami is not really a girl (a teen?), I think she might be abit tall. So the proportion is abit off. Anyway, enjoy!!

The Catapult / HGUC 1/144 Juaggu ver. zenma5ter
« on: May 11, 2012, 03:33:22 PM »
Alright folks? This is just a recolour, one of my fast build series, havent got much time to do any major project (and also autumn is officially in the house - full blast right now).

Anyway, a real type colour scheme, red (Madder Red), black (Mix of Flat, Metal, Steel) and white (Pearl). Overall, this is a fun build, fairly similar to the Bearguy or any acguy. The hand cannons and nose cannon is a really interesting design.. Deadly yet comical. Posing wise, like all acguy variations, not as dynamic as Gundams. However, with arms and nose raised, it looks good.

I guess that is that. Photos!!

Mecha & Other Figures / 1/6 Dmitry Parkin's Vampire WIP
« on: April 02, 2012, 03:12:02 PM »

My first resin kit is here, Dmitry Parkin's vampire. It is 1/6th scale, so, if this vampire is standing upright, he would be 180cm tall.. At his current pose, he is 26cm.

The body and leg comes in one piece, head is divided into two piece (one head and lower jaw), two hands (left and right), one tail, a base, 5 arrows and one set (12) photoetch feathers.

I have previously seen Industria Mechanika via Fitchen Foo and at one point wanted to get the Hornethopter, but decided otherwise. Then recently, I was directed to the site again by Hemish's post, and as much as I want the Hornethopter, I am much more attracted to this vampire. After a few sleepless nights, I've decided to bite the bullet and get him.

For those who are thinking of getting stuff from them, the cast are considerably good, for a beginner like me, there doesnt seem to be much to clean up, so that's good yeah?  Packaging is good, you get lots of foam and bubblewrap, no defects from shipping as far as I can tell. Shipping is decent and I got the package 10 days after purchase.

I am still in the planning stage of how I would like to approach this, a base coat of grey and handpainting is where I am at. In the mean time, I will slowly clean it up and painting should start after the Easter break.

The Catapult / HG 1/144 AGE-1 Titus ver zenma5ter
« on: March 31, 2012, 03:33:28 PM »
I was assembling the MG AGE-1 Normal when I snapped the clear green 'A' piece. needless to say I was depressed as f^&*... So I got this guy out, spray cans and went crazy. Finish everything in less than 3 hours.

He is in two different shade of red, Italian red and Mahogany red.. With steel and German grey.. I remember seeing the same scheme somewhere, which is what inspired me to replicate it.. Anyway, photos...
