Mecha & Other Figures / ThreeZero 1/12 scale SCOPEDOG
« on: November 09, 2016, 06:52:27 PM »
Thought there was a thread for this already. apparently not. Damn I need to get a higher-paying job, because that Three Zero Scopedog is callign to me with it's siren song: "Buy me...".

Just FYI: 1/12 means it's in-scale with Figma, figuarts, Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black 6-inch figures. Yes you can have your Scopedog stomp on Imperial Stormtroopers if you wanted.

Sortie Analysis / Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096

I was happy with how the OVA turned out, so I'm dreading this. At best it'll just be the OVA cut up to fit a short TV series length. At worst they'll be trying to shoehorn nonsensical filler episodes. Not sure.

Just hoping this isn't just an excuse to do more Unicorn recolors.

Engineering Corps / Making the best out of android phone cameras?
« on: March 19, 2016, 04:11:18 PM »
Anyone here have experience with using Android Phone cameras for taking photos of their builds?

After a long period of time (and tons of peer pressure) I've replaced my Nokia N8 with a Samsung Galaxy phone. Since I've gotten used to the Nokia phone format, I have no idea how to make the most of the Samsung/Android phone camera format to take pics of dioramas, etc. The old Nokia had presets for close-up pics (which I often used for build pics) but the Samsung is a bit of a different beast. Anyone here have experience workign with these type sofphones and tips you can pass on? I really don't want to keep leaving it on AUTO mode and hoping it doesn't stuff up the photo.

Mecha & Other Figures / 1/12 Scale Soldier/SWAT/Skeletons Project
« on: March 04, 2016, 07:43:14 PM »
Not exactly Gundam/Mecha-elated, but if any of you need SWAT teams, Generic Army grunts or Harryhausen-esque skeletons in 1/12 (6 Inch) scale ...this might be for you.

6-inch is the same scale as the Star Wars Black figures, as well as Marvel and DC comics action figures, as well as Japanese Figma and Figuarts figures--so I KNOW these guys are in-scale with my Solid Snake figma.

Also more than a bit annoyed. I introduced a lot of friends (figure collectors) to this project, but all of them just balked or gave stupid excuses not to support the project (I was half ready to kill the guy who bragged that he can get his dad's factory in China to make fakes of this project in a week and out-sell them).

Mobile Suit Simulator / Halo 5 Opening. GOD-@!%$!@!!!
« on: September 04, 2015, 12:03:34 AM »

I told myself: "No, i will not be drawn in by cinematics. I will not fall for the cinematics."

"That Walker kid, he's nuts."

Was Wadill stopped drinking from his tube and turned to his wingman. Both were waiting for orders to sortie and had nothing better to do than sit on the ship's deck enjoying the salty Earth air.

"Care to explain?" Was frowned at Kijel Marchos. "I mean yes, Walker's always been a bit eccentric..."

"He's nuts. He's crazy. He's certifiable." Kijel gruffly intoned, dreadlocks shaking. "First he paints a skull face on his Jahannam, then he badgers the techs for a big spike on the damn thing's knee."

"So he's overcompensating for something." Was smirked, then took another long draw of his drink.

"I'm telling you, Walker is a psychopath. He's gonna get himself killed, and us along with him." Kijel dropped and laid back flat on the deck. "A beam rifle in one hand and a machinecannon in the other. No shield, just that hunk of metal on his mobile suit's shoulder. And that skull face."

"Kijel?" Was began to sound irritated. "Why are you so worked up about the skull face, anyway?"

"Walker says he's a ghost. Thinks he's the spirit of the dead, coming to haunt the Capital Guard for their sins." Kijel drew crazy circles around his head. "Cuckoo. Definitely Cuckoo. I don't want to be on the same mission as he--"

The sounds of the alert horn cut him short, and both pilots snapped to attention.

Not even a second later, the dark form of Walker's Jahannam strode out on the deck. The death's-head skull stood out among the army-green standard among the other mobile suits on the ship as it took off from the main catapault, screaming like a banshee as it leapt straight into the sky...

What Da Hak is going on here?  ::)
