The Catapult / HG Grimoire by Mokanaman
« on: January 30, 2015, 11:31:59 PM »
Here is the 1:144 HG Grimoire from the anime Gundam Reconguista in G. The model kit has been modified and painted in a weathered out of box scheme using lacquers. Modifications include styrene plating, kit bashing, epoxt putty work and 3d printed components. The diorama was also 3d printed.

Got this kit smashed together in about a month. Going for a simple scrap build back ground MS, I decided to model it like an WW2 aircraft with the paint peeling off. Under each coat you can see what parts and schemes the different parts came from during the history of the Universal Century. Model is OOB.

Please enjoy!

The Catapult / No grade 1:144 GM Cannon
« on: April 06, 2014, 12:16:02 AM »

Here is my finished 1980's zeta era GM Cannon. Out of the Box build and paint job (airbrush/ hand paint mix) with in kit decals. Not a fan of the color scheme I reverted on an old filter wash method I use to use. This followed by shellack, pigment weathering and dry brushing. Finished with custom decals and topped off with clear matt. The seams were really something to get rid off.

Please enjoy.

The Catapult / HG Gundam X Maoh
« on: April 06, 2014, 12:09:05 AM »
Hello, long time no post or finished gundam kit by that matter. Here is the lattest piece.

For a break down this was a out of the box build of the Gundam X Maoh from Gundam build fighters. Time was spent filling hollow areas, seam lines and sharpening the V-fin. The kit was then primed pre-shaded with Mr. Hobby lacquers followed by a series of panels inked, pigment weathering and clear matting. The solar wings was alclade followed by Mr. crystal clear blue.

Hope you guys enjoy this.

The Catapult / RMS-108 Marasai ver. highlander
« on: October 10, 2013, 07:15:41 PM »
Hello guys,

This was a project on hiatus for about 8-10 months and inspired by medieval Scottish highlander warriors.

I got the kit as a prize gift from One Stop Anime really cheap. It was built at a bar believe it or not while drinking run with rantinan. Once all the simple seam lines were filled I added a heap of weapon via magnets to this wonderful HGUC kit. Painting was a challenge as I attempted the tartan kilt patten on the skirt armor and carbon effects around the joint in lacquer. Mistakes were made and repainting parts were required form masking errors. To give this kit a high gloss many layers of Future Floor Acrylic was applied.

Please enjoy

Also started a Facebook for my works, blogs and videos if you wish to follow me. All my work is in the gallery:

Joint Exercises / Public Transport guide to Mecha Workshop Melbourne
« on: October 09, 2013, 03:47:44 PM »
A very easy guide to get to the Altona Men's Shed.

The red line is the bus route.

Catch the Werribee line to Altona Station.

Outside Altona Station on Pier Street facing the sea.

Once you exit the only platform head to Pier street and turn right.

2min to the round about cross the road to the commonwealth bank. You will need to catch the bus in front of the Bank. Jump on the 411 or 412 service (the only services running there) all zone 1 btw.

Left Apex park right Kooringal golf club.

The trip is only 5 minutes. When you pass the entry to the golf course (were the pic is) inform the driver to stop at the next bus stop.

The bus stop is right in front of the gate. Cross the road and walk in.

If you are keen on walking your in for a treat. Walk to the end of Pier street. Turn right on the beach front and walk along the shore line until you hit Apex park. Cross the park to Queens Street and head to the Men's Shed picture above. This will take about 30 minutes or quicker if your fit.

The Catapult / reissue 1980 Zock
« on: July 29, 2013, 10:56:18 AM »

An original zeon zock from the 1980's tooling, lucky the reissues of the 2000's were cleaned up and uses a harder plastic. The original gundam models were bad even for it's time but the zeon marine suits were not to far from today's HG's. They has a special charm and look to the reason why I enjoy building these.

The kit itself required a lot of seam line work but the articulation is unsteady but good enough and didn't need any mods. I used massive rivets and cogs around joints and visor for a dieselpunk look. The kit was pre and post shaded then weathered with inks and pigments.

Please enjoy.
