« on: March 02, 2017, 06:43:37 AM »
Goo day. can anyone help me find or if anyone already made a tekkadan mobile worker orthographic drawing. I'm planning to scratch build one the orthographic views would be the best source thanks.

Thanks thegunny!

I want to understand why those points are placed on a particular location. Is there an explanation why they are placed on a certain location?

I don't want to just slap on the decals where it wouldn't make sense.

Engineering Corps / prototype/ test markings
« on: December 20, 2016, 07:39:51 AM »
Hi.

I'm currently planning on a prototype/ testing version of an MS so I'm currently researching the coloring and markings that you normally put in them. Unfortunately I haven't had any luck with them. So far I got images of some crash test cars so that's where I'm starting.

Do those markings; the striped yellow and black lines and the circle with yellow and black "slices" have any proper names?

Aside from those maybe you guys have any other ideas or sources regarding these kinds of markings.

Decaling the custom rg amazing red warrior.
The decals really add to the kit, it's just that the decal still has that excess border around that pops out. Top coating would fix that but i might risk ruining the kit and i'm already satisfied with the paints' finish and topcoating might change the finish.

painting took long enough but I'm really close to finishing this project. I'm currently using a DIY air pump setup so I'm really satisfied with the results though it's not without imperfections. tried doing 2 shades of red though I may have put it a bit too dark.

the white and yellow parts are bare plastic.

waiting for the RG rx-78-2 waterslide decals to put here.

Here's a small update with this project. Converting the needed hg pieces are already done. But the original red warrior parts look a bit plain compared to the detailing of the rg so I'll have to add some detailing to make it look authentic. Maybe a fey pla-plating here and there and some scribing will do.

Also, the LEDs I ordered finally arrived a few days ago so I was able to light the head just recently.

SET C actually has Orange Rust, Gun Metal, Silver. Which I think would look good for inner frame weathering.

But Sets D, E, and F is probably more cost efficient since their three colors are applicable on what I need.

I already got SET F. I'll try doing some post shading on the armor parts.

I've been looking at the tamiya weathering master sets for quite some time but I need help deciding which sets I am going to get. I'm planning on weathering my kits as though they have been exposed to space environment.

I just need suggestions on what colors to get and why you think that would fit into the space theme.

For starters, I wont be needing the ones from set A since they're Sand, Light Sand, Mud.
Set B has soot which I think is good for the thrusters.
set C also looks promising since it has Soot and Rust.
Set F also looks good since it has Titan, Light Gun Metal and Copper.

1st season will be how Banagher got his (cyber?)newtype training when he was little.
2nd season will be how Mineva survived all this time.
3rd season will be how Full frontal came to be.
Last episode will be the 1st episode of the ova. That's the only time we'll ever see the unicorn.  :P

Done with the feet parts. What I did was carve out the feet area to fit in the ankle of the RG kit, When I finally got the clearance I'm satisfied with, I took a polycap that fits into the ankle peg and glued it inside the feet using CA glue and some baby powder.

1st I placed the polycap inside the feet then filled the surrounding areas with baby powder, then I applied CA glue to the baby powder, being careful not to put glue inside the polycap. the powder absorbs the glue and helps it become more manageable. the powder also helps the glue dry faster.

Just want to share my latest project. I haven't seen anyone do this yet so might as well try it myself.

I'm just converting the rg rx78 into the amazing red warrior. Without modding the rg kit as much as possible.

I'm done working on the arms shoulders and backpack. Currently working on the head, chest, knees and feet. I'm using the original ARW feet since I dont want to destroy the rg feet. I'm still looking at ways how to put a polycap inside the feet since gluing the polycap to the plastic part is as good as imposible.

I'm currently working on the beam sword of my destiny gundam and I'm having issues with the light not reaching the middle area.

I'm thinking od affing some reflective tape at the back side to help with the lighting. Ideas and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Engineering Corps / Vintage 1/1200 Whitebase

Found one of these in my stash. Vintage 1/1200 Whitebase. Under the display base it has some prints. Can anybody translate the japanese text? Also interesting to note is the year(1980) and the different Bandai Logo. Does this mean that it's an authentic vintage model?

Fast forward through the project. And also since all the individual parts are done. All that's left is some minor detailing and a proper display base.
