Title: Gunpla kits with decent price?
Post by: Andranos on May 24, 2014, 08:41:49 AM
Hey guys, i'M trying to buy several gunpla kits but  i couldnt find any storr that gives decent pricing
HLJ prices are good but their shipping cost are pretty bad
15$ shipping for 20$ item and the shipping costs for multiple item is almost the same as single item (15$ for 1 80$ for 6)
Any suggestion where should i go to buy the kits?
Oh I live in melbourne btw

cheers

There are a few physical buildings in Melbourne.  Animasia? Victorian Hobby Centre? Sure to be more I don't remember (I live in Brisbane).  Other than those Zombster is a physical store here in Brisbane that ships Australia wide and offers free shipping on orders over 150 dollars (I think).  Gundam Universe is another store offering free shipping for orders over 80 dollars, but they seem to only be new and not have a great deal of variety.

It is all swings and roundabouts really.  If you buy online you will have to pay shipping, if you buy from a physical store then you will obviously pay a little more since they had to have the stock delivered.

As Epi said Zombster do offer free postage over $150.

Victorian Hobby Centre (VHC) are stocking Gunpla by the bucket load lately and they have free postage over $49 at the moment. Hearn's Hobbies is another place to try. I haven't gotten anything from them in a while but they were pretty reasonable.

Hobbyco's rates are not that good. I once thought about getting one decal sheet from them and they wanted $10 postage for a $4.50 decal sheet  :o

when i was in melbourne last month, VHC had a small range of 1/144 scale kits, a few 1/60 and some 1/100 ... was really disappointed by their stock levels of gundam ...

price wise, i'd say go with HLJ, even combined item and shipping is still cheaper than VHC .. until the aus dollar goes through the floor

I bought my gunpla from an international Ebay seller - Tokyo-Hobby. Gunpla will be shipped from Japan. It takes time. Normally, it's around 15 days. Their price is much cheaper than store. If you want to buy several gunpla once and not hurry. I recommend you buy gunpla from them. http://stores.ebay.com.au/Tokyo-Hobby?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

try gkgundamkit. it based in HK postage is abit cheaper than hlj.  i usually save myself about 10$ per kit compare to what i have to pay at local stores
