Lovely banners mate. Ok I think the gag you were after was "Yeast" being the ingredient that makes bread "Rise". I like the twist of making it a "Group Bake". Clever.

If anyone is interested in learning how to craft and cultivate an engaging GB then read on, otherwise the wall of text below might be a bit tl;dr for you ;)

:)

What we need is a basic outline of what you want from your GB. Restrictions, time frame, participants.

First, you need to decide on what restrictions, if any, there will be. Here are some considerations: Minimum paint? No restrictions/snap built ok? Decals and panel lines as a minimum? No visible nub marks? Basic mods as a mimimum? (pla plates, rivets, drill holes etc) Recolours only/Stock colours only?

Secondly we need a time frame. Will there be a deadline or is it open ended?

Personally I think that since we have the Grunt GB, the Gauntlet, The ReZEL GB, and the Beargguy GB all still active, and a Delta GB around the corner as well as monthly installments of the grunt GB, that what you need to do is specifically target this GB to those who are really focussed on the MG 00 Raiser. Ask them for their input, what restrictions they want, and what the deadline should be. I think you should also use Gundam Guy's interest in a MG 00 Raiser GB to your full advantage as he will be able to bring a lot of exposure to your GB.

Finally you need your list of particpants. You need to find out who is in and who is out, and add them to your OP along with links to their blogs/WIP's. Will you require them to have a WIP thread at GAF or will it be ok to update their blogs and post a link in the GB topic as they do?

Last of all, the success of your GB is entirely proportionate to the amount of effort, follow up, and follow through YOU put into it. If you make a sloppy thread nobody will join. If you don't post progress nobody will follow. If you don't inspire, motivate, and push your participants nobody will finish. There are exceptions to the rule, like when 4 people have such great synergy that the GB motivates itself to great results, but typically you have to put in the effort to achieve the results.

Busterbeam's Gauntlet is a prime example of an excellent OP and GB Topic. It has the following winning elements:

Great title.
Very thoroughly thought through conditions and post format.
Engaging.
Visually interesting with clever use of images and text formatting.
Exciting
Inviting
Challenging.
He has clearly laid it out. Don't join if you won't finish, so less follow up is required.

Your GB OP does not have to be as epic, but a bit of effort and forethought will go a long way. At the moment it looks as though you were so excited to post it up that you didn't really put the thought in to make in engaging, which shows in that it has gone all day without a reply bar mine. Full marks for those banners though, they are top efforts.

Good luck mate! Get back to me once you've thought it all through and gathered some participants and I will sticky it.

Also if you want to draft up a post for the GA :blogger: I will stick it on there and on :fb: too.

Also it wouldn't hurt to throw in a few links and pics to inspire your partcipants in the OP and again as you progress through the GB topic pages.

Excellent! Love it.

Definitely very keen to see your MG 00 Raiser ANA Ver. It will look positively spectacular in those colours. Are you going for the full metallics?

@Sonar: Yes and no, metallic frame, some metallic blue here and there. Will see how I will proceed when I get the kit.

That pic of it in green is actually pretty cool.
There is something about the 00 deisgns, I just cant get into it.

I'll be happy if I finally get a MG Tieren :)

If I had to guess, I think it's because your usual builds are from UC and they are more militaristic in nature, especially after you paint them green, whereas 00 designs rely heavily on a Sci-Fi look rather than military, except for the Tieren...which is probably why you like it :D

@Sonar: Yes and no, metallic frame, some metallic blue here and there. Will see how I will proceed when I get the kit.

I think I'll just go for straight build with panel lines and decals only.

Last time I opened the paint bottle, my wife complaint and "kicked" me out of the internal area..........

Guess I have no chance to use paint again!

OMG, did you manage to recolour the carpet?

Well, can't be helped. Looking forward to your OOB. Anyway, you've received the 00 already? How's everything looking? box-wise that is.

The box art is good.

Just see the pics.

I also order some LED's for the kit.

So, I can get all 5 spots to light up.

@FS- that's pretty cool, where did you get the extra l.e.d and how's the price? Anyway, I've read from somewhere that you only need 3 l.e.d to light up everything. Good to know there's plenty more for this kit :D

I'm gonna try to join in. I've already ordered the oo-raiser. I'm gonna try to spray paint some parts and add LED and wiring and try to light up the gn condensor aswell. Depends on how much time I'll have.

Thanks! I need to do some research tho, on how to connect those LED's, wich calculations you need to make for the resistors and stuff, how to get the cables nicely fit into the kit. Ooh btw, i'm gonna do the exia, 00 and qanT at the same time.
Title: Re: Master Grade 00 "Flour" Group Bake
Post by: zenma5ter on June 20, 2011, 09:37:48 PM
Ah, I didnt really bothered with those stuff. Well good luck!

And I do have the Qan[t] in backlog. I am thinking a Black Beauty (The Green Hornet) colour scheme.

I got the LED's from HK yahoo auction -> http://hk.f1.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/auction/1127867558 (http://hk.f1.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/auction/1127867558)

HK$11 each + postage. I got 10 of them for less than A$20.

I also found LED's at Hobby Dreams in Capitol Square, Sydney. They are selling two a pack for $10!

But it's actually quite easy to do. Just go to Jaycar for a pack of 3mm LED's. The rest should be straight forward for average techies. Jusy how to make it small enough is the issue.

Well, just clarify, there are five spots for LED in the MG OO Raiser. (vs 3 in the 1/100 NG raiser).

One for head, two for GN Drives, two for the "binders" ("wings" of O raiser).

@Firestallion.Wow, thats a great deal on those LED units, well done! Are they still available for that price? What do you think the possibility of a group buy would be?

Would be awesome to see all the Raisers lit up like that!
Title: Re: Master Grade 00 "Flour" Group Bake
Post by: zenma5ter on June 21, 2011, 08:09:14 AM
@FireStallion: That is a great deal. Well done indeed.

@Hoardz: It says now that one is HK$11.50, which is approximately AUD$1.40. That is freaking huge saving. I think what we need is someone buying 10-20 and divide the cost.
Title: Re: Master Grade 00 "Flour" Group Bake
Post by: FireStallion on June 21, 2011, 09:40:38 AM
Hoardz & zenma5ter, the LED's are still available. If you order 6 or more, the price is HK$11 each.

The LED's are bright, even brighter than the original Bandai ones.

But they don't fit in the space (I just try MG Exia, MG GN-X. Will try MG OO QAN[T] later.) You need to have some "surgical" operations to fit in perfectly.

YOU ARE WARNED!

But that's also the fun (and "pain") of modelling.

And yes, group buy is a good idea.

@FS that a good bargain mate for the LED. just wondering, is the LED to small compared to the space or to big?? coz I'm thinking to getting some as well.

@TS is it still possible to join the GB??

I didn't try OO Raiser yet. But the LED is too big for Exia and GN-X. You'll need to cut and file the unit to fit in.

But OOR may be better as its LED arrangement is different to Exia and GN-X.

BTW, you can choose red, green, blue, yellow, orange, blue, white and flashing for the LED colour. I've got green x6, red x2, yellow x1, blue x1 and white x1.

@FireStallion: That doesnt sound like too much work for that price. Thanks for your feedback on them.
Title: Re: Master Grade 00 "Flour" Group Bake
Post by: Hoardz01 on June 21, 2011, 10:48:49 PM
Hey guys, it doesn't sound like the size will be a huge issue. I would most definately be interested in getting some of these. I suspect a 00 raiser maybe also, is there a deadline on this GB?

@Zenmaster. A big buy sounds awesome! I think I am the only person here who cant understand that site :-)
@ Firestallion. So, if we could put together an order for 15-20 of these, would it be possible for you to complete the transaction? I am sorry to ask, but I have no idea what is going on on that site:-) Really blown away by this price, I think you have found a great deal there!

The colours all look really good, is there a purple one? I think it would have to be purple for the gnx, some greens for exia/00, and maybe a couple randoms for something different.
Title: Re: Master Grade 00 "Flour" Group Bake
Post by: Svendancer on June 22, 2011, 07:20:36 AM
@hoardz01 the deadline is 23/6/2012, which is a year from the starting date. I don't understand the website as well since I don't speak mandarin :P.
Title: Re: Master Grade 00 "Flour" Group Bake
Post by: zenma5ter on June 22, 2011, 08:52:12 AM
@Hoardz and Svendancer: I dont mind organizing a group buy, I will just spam the others and see if they need any. Just list down the number and colour of your choice and I will see what I can do about it.

And Hoardz, I dont think they have a purple one, but a white l.e.d with purple on the clear parts would do just fine? p.s. you in on this GB?

ALSO, one l.e.d will come with four batteries apparently. Another HK$4 gives you 10 more batteries.
Title: Re: Master Grade 00 "Flour" Group Bake
Post by: Hoardz01 on June 22, 2011, 09:45:57 AM
@Zenmaster. That would be awesome mate :-) I really appreciate your work here. I guess this makes it official then, sign me up for the Group build and the group buy! I will finalise my numbers and colours and then we can sort out a payment. Do you think we need to move quickly on this? Does the seller identify any sort of time constraints or limited supply?

This is going to be sooooo cool to see all the kits lit up :-)
Title: Re: Master Grade 00 "Flour" Group Bake
Post by: FireStallion on June 22, 2011, 12:44:50 PM
I can help and communicate with the seller. Actually, he can understand English.

I just don't want to handle the payment. Not good in this.

Maybe I can ask his stock level. How many ppl are into the Gp Buy? I'll just assume each of you need at least 4 greens. (1 is included in the kit.)

@Firestallion. Thankyou so much for your help, really awesome :-) I think I would get 6 green, 2 blue, 1 white and 2 red.
Did you have any luck modifying yours to fit the exia/gnx?

Contacted the seller. He has plenty of stock.

About modifying, I don't have much time to look at this. But looking at the thingy, I may remove the battery cover, re-bend the metal contact and cut the casing 1mm shorter. Plan B will be to take the LED, remove the casing but just retain the top part, then do some soldering and/or taping. Maybe I take some pictures later.

If you don't get the LED unit, just get some LED's, some button cells and wiring. Get a nose piler, some tapes.

With skills and patience, you can make a DIY light up GN Drive.

@Firestallion. Thanks for putting up those pics mate, very interesting to see what others have done with their light effects. The one in the shield of the qanta looks ace! I wish I had a better understanding of other languages, would really open a world of cool stuff.

@Zenmaster & Sven dancer. Looks like were all a go for this buy. Good to know that this guy is happy to communicate with you guys about the product and stock. Let me know what needs to be done to make this buy happen, if there are any issues with paypal accounts or cash then I can help out too. Sven, I am in queensland so still australia.

Lastly, how would you feel about a qanta being in this GB. Im just tossing up between which of the two kits to get first. Then again, with all these LED's......would be pretty crazy not to get raiser :-)

how do those led units get turned on? also if they come with 4 batteries thats a huge saving right there can someone confirm that

also i may join in on this GB, i dont have any of the kits there ment for but a premade unit is rather handy and the lack of led selling spots near me makes these cheap too

@Sven: Noted!

@FireStallion: That is so cool. It's good to be  multilingual.

@Hoardz: As much as I want to bend the rules, but I think it would be best to have this GB concentrating on the 00 Raiser. Maybe save the Qan[t] for a build-off between us?

@Fury: Glad you could join us :D I am not sure about this product, but normally, you just turn the GN Drive and the metal will be in contact with the batteries. For the binder/shoulder, I am pretty sure there's a switch. GN drive 一粒連四粒電池.各色同價 另可加 $4 多一排10粒電池. It meant that one GN Drive will include 4 batteries, all colours are the same price, and you can have another 10 batteries for HK$4.

@ZetaN: Oh my.... How Bandai like to toy us so, that is one good looking beast.. Anyway, thanks for sharing the info and I will gladly welcome any seven-sword variant once it is out. Glad to know yours is on your way, hopefully mine will be here today, it's been with the driver since 7-ish.

On a different note, received my kit today and went straight into it. Finished the chest and arm internal frame, the arm is quite muscular compared to previous MGs.

@ZetaNT: That doesnt sound right. Did they leave a note for you?

@Zeta: Sometime's it'll say delivered when it's been delivered to a delivery agent or something.
Are you tracking from JapanPost side? Try plugging the tracking number into auspost.com.au/track (http://auspost.com.au/track) if you haven't already. Sometimes gives more sensible answers.
I'm assuming you got it shipped EMS here, btw.

Ehhhhhhh ...... where did I hear something like this before???????? .....

"Believe a sign of Zeta , ... beyond the hard times from now."

Well, back to the "bake".

Try the LED on the GN-Drive, GN-condenser and the O-Raiser binder.

GN-Drive + GN-condenser - the LED unit does not fit perfectly but the gap is acceptable. Only about 0.5mm.

O-Raiser binder - when the LED unit is fit into [19<2>], the cover [19<4>] cannot fit in. And when I try to take the unit out, it's stuck.

Didn't try the chest fit yet .....

Alright, so I've been mulling over the details of my build and here's what I want to see so far. I probably won't touch the white on my 00 Raiser, instead i'll go for more of a designer's look with a slight change of the color scheme, toned down colors (but not as much as the actual Designer's Colors) with a semi-gloss finish and look around for the same decals... I am going to try the 1/100 NG water slides and see if they work or if that doesn't work I may wait for SamuelDecal and the like to come up with the same concept actually designed for the MG. The LEDs is going to be the major point of this build, not only do I have the 5 LED units to go a long with this build, I will also reinforce some of the brightness with my own LED work and the use of luminous transfer for small details. Pics below show Exia and illustrates how I wanna use the transfer and the decals in question.

Basically glow in the dark, it needs 15-30 minutes of light and can be lit up for hours.

@ZetaN: That's cool. I tried the luminous transfer and mine is not as sticky as I liked. Hence its abit hard to play around with it for small uneven places. Anyway, I am pretty sure you'll have better luck than me :D. The thing about luminous transfer is it covers up the in-box stickers details, which is a shame for this kit as it is pretty detailed.

I won't be putting the transfer anywhere near decals, it's just a little plus to the build, not in anyway the focus of it. It was literally 2.50 dollars off Ebay, just something to play around with.

Hi there!!, I want to join the Group Build, Thanks to @zenma5ter for the invitation, so let me share you the pics of my MG OO Raiser, as I mentioned on other post, I'm using the water decals left of the 00Qan[T].

(http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/2007/foto0044m.th.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/219/foto0044m.jpg/)

The inner frame will be gold and grey(actually this tone of grey got it mixing tamiya's german grey 60% and metallic grey 40%), for the blue parts of the armor first apply a mix of sky blue 70% and metallic grey 30% and then clear blue.

See ya!

So my 00 Gundam is standing on it's own, I will post pics when I get the backpack finished because without the 00 Twin Drives, it looks absolutely silly. I love the main build, everything is so sturdy! My only gripe is the leg clear parts come off too easily, there's nothing really holding them in place so when it's all said and done I'm going to have to glue them in place. 00 Gundam stands taller than Exia and I'm sure the Raiser will even add to that further.

I do have a small issue, the light from the LED is not reaching my head unit like I'd like it to. The light isn't as bright as it should be, anyone else running into this problem? I used my original LED then a brighter one from SamuelDecal and it didn't change very much.
Title: Re: Master Grade 00 "Flour" Group Bake [Baking in Progress]

Okay, progress to actually show. The 00 Gundam is complete, the Raiser and the weapons remain. I did some experiments with the head LED unit and ended up ultimately scrapping the bandai style of LED for now and going with my own LED, and the effect made it ALOT brighter...however I now have wires and the like to conceal, Raiser should help that. The GN drives use the ...LED lights from Exia! Yep, the dork in me actually put a part of Exia into this build like the show. There is no panel lining yet aside from the face, that's a given, but everything remains untouched for painting later. The next step is to figure out how to light up the leg orbs.

Coming along swellingly cezar, though this is the first time I heard of led(for the 00 series) from HLJ, a quick search led me to GG's site and they have them (http://gginfinite.com/LED_Set_-_MG_1-100_00_Model_Kit.html) for preorder.

There are a number of ways to get the LED's:

1. Email parts@hlj.com  That would cost 700 yen each + postage.

2. GG as above.

3. If you are in Sydney, check Hobby Dream in Capitol Square. They sell it for $10 a pair.

4. Get from samueldecal (http://www.samueldecal.com/) Anyone has any comments about the fitment? I would like to get an extra pair of green and another pair of purple for GN-X. Zeta NT, is it you?

5. Get from HK yahoo auction. (http://hk.f1.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/auction/b19065031?u=chriskit2005) One seller sells one LED for HK$11.5 + postage. I got 11 LED's from him for less than $20. But you need to do some cutting and filing to fit in properly. Don't attempt to put them in the side binder of 0 Raiser. I regret for that.

6. Custom built with LED's, wiring and button cells.

There are absolutely no fitting issues that I have run into, the only minor issue I had was screwing down the cover hard enough so the batteries set right, but that wasn't really an issue. I will say they are much brighter than the others, they have a opaque bulb instead of the clear one, which helps light spread.

Hobbymate sells them as well. Of the 4 I got 1 was faulty even with new cells placed in it and at best it would flicker a lot otherwise theyre quite bright. Not dissing then or anything

Well my current LEDs are rather on the large size because of the extended wires, i'm going to have to cut the wire down and rewire the whole unit, thankfully I can run 10 of these LED lights off one power source so I only have to conceal the power source once, the arms are going to be tricky because of the length of the bulb+metal wire and it breaks if you bend it too much and kills the connection. I may look into alternative LED sources for the arms, legs I should manage alright though.

Yeah, surface mounts are small, but you need to have soldering knowledge, I've busted like 40% of my SMD's cause of my lousy soldering. Though, I've seen HM selling pre-wired SMDs and also I've heard good things about fibre optics. Maybe try that.

The luminous transfer will be used for small details, not big parts, I think it looks silly when it's used in large portions.

Fiber-optics is another thing I have been using in other kits, to light up those orbs you need something that spreads light over a larger area though and fiber-optics don't do that very well.

Sanding down the top of an LED nicely disperses the light. And for the inside of the chest, you could use some chrome tape/vinyl(car shops) to help it reflect out.

Yeah, I always sand down the tips of my LED lights, it's helpful but you still have that focused light source, Gundam markers help too. With my Epyon, I painted the orb with a green metallic marker, so the light comes through more diffused. This method cannot be used in the 00 Gundam though. I just remembered something, I want those stickers to still be visible so I will have to use my knife and cut out the details so the light only comes through the lines and text....whoo boy, i'm making this project harder and harder with each post! XD

Hey Zeta, I've just received my decals from Samuel and what I can see that might work is that they have decals for the orbs, so it might not look as silly with just the green transfer.

Anyway, not much update from my side, weather is cold and gloomy, might have to wait till spring/summer to paint.

I've made an arm and a leg. Having a little progress.

I spent an hour or two at a time.

How long do you normally spend at a time to build models? Do you press on for a whole day? Sacrifice some sleep time? Or just take it slowly?

Just curious.

@FireStallion: Arm and leg completed? Or just the inner bit. I think it depends on certain project. For the ones that will be displayed on my bed side table (special project perhaps), I will take it slow. If it is just OOB, I soldier on for more than a few hours.

Wow, cezar, you are going at it at a wonderful rate :D, I like your painted frame. How much light will show from the binder you reckon? Might have to think of a way to 'extend' the light for a more GN particles feel... Keep up with your superb pace!!!

Nice work, cezar!

Any body thinking of putting on a "Transam" colour scheme?

Busy at work and other commitments. Can't spend much time on models now.

BTW, I'll go to HK the coming term break. So, I may come back with a load of gunpla! Thinking about getting the PG OO Raiser ......

No Trans-Am here. I like it in the anime, but the effect on models simply means you turn a model Pink xD I am however simulating the GN particles as much as I can, should be interesting!

@zenma5ter Thanks, this is the first time I make circuits, so any ideas to 'extend' the light are welcome.

@FireStallion I forgot to thank you too, thanks  ;D
BTW I read at gundam guy that a 00 Raiser Trans Am version will be released, like the 00 Raiser will include one red LED  ::)
Does anyone would order it??

@cezar: I read about it, isnt the trans am a limited release? Never the less, don't think I would get it Are you getting it? I will think of something in regards to 'extending' the lights.

@Firestallion: You planning on making yours a trans am?

Its a limited release type of thing from the Bandai Hobby Online Shop. Gundam Guy is taking preorders for them though. I won't be partaking for reasons explained a page before but I'm definitely opting for the Seven Sword eventually though.

zenma5ter, I don't intend to paint, so no trans-am colour scheme for me. But I like to see one of the GB with Trans-am as i think it's cool.

Otherwise, if I have spare time and learn some PS skills, I may PS a photo with trans-am colours. But that's a BIG IF!

@ZETA NEWTYPE Could you share how are you simulation the GN Particles??, thanks.

Good to hear your progress Mick. I am about to get my paint as well and a thought hit me, would I be able to change the clear green parts by spraying over clear blue (just to emphasise the ANA colour scheme)? From my own logic, I dont think it is possible, anyone?

@shaid: blue-ish?

@Hoardz: Thanks for keeping up your interest and support for this GB

@Sven: At your own pace mate. As it is a limited release and a special colour, I would assume it would be more expensive. I found that you can pre-order here (http://p-bandai.jp/hobby/special-1000001889/), its all in japanese so I am not sure about the requirements and all that.

@Mick: Looking real good man. Any custom colour scheme?

Hey guys just throwing in that i will be baking up my MG 00 Raiser for this GB. Got a colour scheme worked out but have an issie with it that im hoping u guys may be able to help me out with.

I want to model it so that it is powered by 2 GN [T] Drives/just powering up Trans-AM. For this effect it will require that i swap the inner blade of the GN Sword III (potentially, still may leave it green at this stage based on the frame it is located on), as well as the frames I1/2, (which are completely green), over to orange pieces, as well as getting 5 orange LED's. That way i can have it so that the head and eyes, GN Drives and O Raiser wings light orange, as well as having the circles on the legs/arms be orange as well.

As mentioned a couple of pages ago, i have ruled out spraying with clear orange, as with a green starting colour it will be impossible for me to make those parts orange, and i also dont think that shining an orange LED through the green parts of the head will produce the desired colour either, (though i will try this just in case & see how it looks).

I have also seen the pics of the Trans-AM 00 Raiser, and think that the red they have used for the head would work perfectly, (cant see if the arm/leg circles are red as well, but figure orange through red will get the look im after). The only problem i see with this is that it is a limited run model, so doubt that i would be able to order the clear frames from it even though they would be pretty much perfect.

My question for u guys is, can i order frames from HLJ or another place and ask them to send it in a different colour, are there any methods u can think of that would get my desired effect on those parts starting with the green peices i have, what are my chances of ordering those frames from the Trans-AM version, and is it possible for me to get orange LED's anywhere that come in the same casing as the LED we get with it?

P.S. If u want to know what i have in mind for the colour scheme just ask and i may tell.

@Mick: Looking good mate!

@Zesaviourta: Wow, that sounds like a plan. What colour scheme do you have in mind? Also, I am not too sure about ordering replacement parts but they are normally reserved for Japanese citizens. However, we'll have to wait and see if the Trans-am version have those dockets for parts replacement. Another thought I have is how the 1/100 NG's clear parts (as they are completely clear) will fit in the MG, it might work and you can definitely get replacement part for that. As for the LEDs, Bandai are releasing them seperately (or get it from him (http://hk.f1.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/auction/1128481641?u=chriskit2005l), mind you, its not original, but he stocks orange/red ones), you can probably get them green ones (ori Bandai) and shove a 3mm red/orange LED into it. These are all my theory, maybe someone else can clear more things up.

p.s oh the colour assortment

Post by: Zesaviourta666 on September 19, 2011, 07:01:38 AM
@ Zenmastar: Thx for the info about the NG ones parts beeing clear, ill have to look into it, though not sure how that would work for the leg/arm parts, as i would like those to be orange, but i guess clear orange would fix that right up. Also, any idea where i can pick up those bandai LED's from, would HLJ have them?

As for the colour scheme, i will be changing pretty much everything, though i will be keeping the forhead gem as is.

Original colour = new colour
White = light blue grey
Blue = yellow
Red+Yellow = gold
Frame = dark silver
Green = orange (led's & clear green parts assuming i can work it out)

That's the basic breakdown of how i want it to look, with the green parts/led's beeing orange for a complimentary colour instead of the contrasting colour that the green will give it. Also i may add a tiny bit of a bronze like colour to the frames colour, depending if i can get a colour that i like the look of or not with the mixing ratio.

That sounds like a heck of a scheme, if I have time, I should be able to convert the colours using photoshop (unless you have one already) and hopefully give a picture (er hem) of what it would look like. Anyway, you can pre-order the LED (green only) from HLJ here (http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN973118l). Also, a reference to the clear runner of the NG 00 from dalong.net. Like you said, a clear orange with silver base would produce a nice orb effect.

Thats pretty much it, except the feet and red sections on the chest are gold, and all of that white/grey (cant quit tell what it is in the pic) is a light blue grey if u can picture that. (I know its hard to get gold in PS and dont know if they have blue grey), may have a look at that him site for the LED's to try and get orange if HLJ only has green for pre-order. Any chance u could give me a link please?

Also love how that PS image came out, can't wait to get started on it amd some pics up.

@ zeta; yeah I thought so, that it would be nearly the same price. But that would be the hlj price. And the prices I normally pay for gundam kits are a bit higher, as I buy them via a dutch company. But it arrives within 3 weeks instead of months and I only pay the dutch shipping costs. So for me it would be cheaper to order the seperate parts. Just need to wait a bit longer :)

So, I got the my leds orderd, 100 green ones and 100 red ones haha :D should be enough? So now I'm gonna figure out how to do the electronics and such. I'm gonna power the leds via USB cable, if that is possible :)

Let me repeat that... 100 green and 100 red.. Sound about right.. OMG!! Congrats!! Anyway, about the USB powered LED, I've had a tutorial bookmarked, but cant really find it.. Darn, well at least you know its out there. A quick google search will bring out some nifty tutorials.

p.s. I've made a new banner, with clickability.. check out the first page.

Haha yeah, I've googled aswell for tutorials and such and found some good ones. But the wiring in the gundam will be difficult. My 00 will have around 12 leds, so.. 100 leds were 3,50, pretty cheap :) others were around 20 cent a piece :) and they are about 1,8 mm wide! Ooh! Sounds cool the new banner, will put in my sign :) thanks!

Yeah I've seen 2 or 3 of those. But those are just 1 led via an usb. Mine will have a couple more haha. As 1 led uses 2.2 volt, and usb gives 5 volt.. It will be diffiicult, but possible :) Some will need to be in series, and some parallel.

Hmm well it depends on the LED youre using. My SF LE, has 6 LEDs powered by 3 AAs, so thats on either 3.6v or 4.5v.

Yeah, you have to be careful with voltage, depending upon the LED source, it can only take up to so much volts. My LEDs run on 3-volts generally connected to a watch battery, which is naturally a 3-volt battery. Don't blow out your bulbs, but with 200 LEDs? I think you can experiment a little bit :P

Didn't update my progress for a long while.

I have both legs and one arm put together. The chest and hips were done. So for the 00, just the head, one arm, backpack and the weapons to go.

The 0 raiser didn't have much progress ....

And zero, nought, nil, rei, 0 progress over the christmas break! Every time I was about to start model work, my better half became agitated - "Why you have the time to build model but don't do the housework, gardening ......?"

So, I installed a ceiling fan, mowed the lawn and cleared up my old model magazines ......

Do you have any "reminder" when you're about to start modelling? (LOL and sigh!)

can I still join this group build?  I've started last year august but stopped mid way after painting my MG 0 Raiser.  I have started working on it again and so far I've panel lined and placed the decals on the 0 raiser and will top coat it tomorrow afternoon.

I'll probably start painting on the Gundam 00 next week.

Thanks man!  Not sure about the decals though.  I just go where my gut feels hehe.

Here's a new update.  Just finished top coating the 0 raiser.  I was supposed to finish it yesterday but right after I did the first topcoat layer it started to rain so I had to stop.  Good thing today was hot and sunny so I was able to finish it.

I'll have to wait a day before assembling them back together then off to prime the Gundam 00 with mr surfacer.

excuse the dirty mess in the background :D

Title: Re: MG 00 "Flour" Group Bake [Baking]
Post by: Garret Masterson on April 04, 2012, 03:43:44 PM
Thanks!  Panel lining took me 3 nights to finish just to make it clean.  Sadly it's not that perfect since I noticed that I missed some small panel lines.  There's nothing I can do with it now since I've already topcoat it with flat clear :(

The 0 Raiser's done and I've kept it safely hidden in my room for now since I'm not planning to attach the wings to the main body in fear of scratching the connectors.

I just recently finished priming and painting the GN sword II and backpack.  I'll be spraying them with clear coat later so I can start doing panel lines by tomorrow night.

I usually paint by body parts since I tend to lose small parts whenever I paint everything at the same time.  Not to mention it's dusty here in our place so the parts waiting to be painted gets some dust/stray hair on them before priming and that can be a problem with the finish.

I hope to finish most of the upper body before holy week ends.  Hopefully I'll get to finish everything before the end of april.

Last WIP update since the process will be repetitive after this.

I just finished panel lining, decaling and top coat the gn sword II, gn drives and backpack.

I had a litte bad luck while topcoating the backpack.  It fell down from the barbecue stick while I'm painting it!  Worse it fell on some dust so middle parts has some rough textures on it after the flat clear dried up.  :'(  Oh well need to move on.

Anyway I'm in the process of priming and painting the rest of the upper body at the moment.  At this rate I'll probably be finished within 2 weeks (I hope).

@NoBByxr8: I got my waterslide from Samueldecal, a good selection of different versions. From the look of it, I think Garret and I used the same version of decals.

thanks man!

@NoBByxr8

yeah me and zenmaster used the same water decals from samueldecals and I also used some of the dry decals that came from the kit since samuel didin't add them to the one he's selling.  Great guy that samuel.  Buying his decals is worth every penny you paid for (shameless plug haha!)

@zenma5ter

Good thing the back will be covered by the 0 raiser hehe.  At least the rought parts won't be seen in the long run.  I just finished painting my MG Gundam 00 yesterday.  Now I can sleep woot!.

Here's a little preview before I start doing a proper photoshoot tonight.

Added panel lines and trimmed a bit of the 'tail'
